Post your nitrous iron blocks below! Tips and Build Sheets for Rookies!
I want to see the different combinations using a truck motor and what kind of power / track times were put down. It can give good reference to those who want to build a similar setup in the future. The posts on lq4s and build sheets are pretty old. I wanted to provide a list of updated setups and what numbers they put down for new members. For example this is my current build!
2000 s10 (#3,450 - estimate)
lq4
ls3 heads
pro true dome pistons
stock rods / crank
custom cam 236/252 624/620 112+5
arp heads / mains / rods
super victor
750 holley hp
1 7/8 headers
No numbers or times yet. I will update in the future

Yeah it was hooking hard. It's made over 650 to the tires spraying on the dyno which is about the max I'll do one day them rods are going to want out lol.. its heavy car 3700 with me. Their are much faster cars out their racing track record is ET 5.431and 141.6 MPH. I just have fun in the bracket and street car classes. To date I've sprayed 10 bottles thru it and 7 were 150 -350 jets.

All my mods are in my signature. My TMS LQ9 is setup to take a solid 350 shot if I so choose, but until I get rid of the 10 bolt rear end, I'm staying at a 150. Even then I know it's only a matter of time lol.

Yeah sidestepping the clutch does wonders for longevity.... I seriously think as long as it's not a drag-style start, it should live a decently long life.

A friend of mine ran that same long block setup carburated in a foxbody hatch that weighed around 2900 with him in it and I believe it was doing 9.80's in the 1/4. Only thing I've seen be an issue is when fly cutting the stock pistons if you get aggressive with timing and have bad fuel they detonate on the edges of where they were cut if the edges were not softened. Your car should run hard though his would still be running today if it didn't hit the chip while spraying. Window switches are a cheap investment in comparison to windowing the block.

I'm thinking 150 max....when/if I hit it.

I believe 150-200 couldn't have been much more he was running tiny solenoids with an old school NOS plate. And it had quite a few bottles thru it before the mishap. One other thing If you are EFI woth a stock intake keep an eye on #7 that hole was usually always the more questionable on my car so I added more fuel to that hole while spraying since I had the tunability with the standalone. That's if your spraying large hits at 150 you should be fine. I am just in the habit of pulling plugs no matter the shot size to be sure its safe. Fingers crossed haven't popped one yet.
