NHRA Fitting and Rupture Disc Question
NHRA Fitting and Rupture Disc Question I am installing a blowdown tube on my 10lb Nitrous Outlet bottle. This appears to require the NHRA Blow Off Valve and pressure relief disc. The instructions call out 15 ft-lb torque spec which is quite low. I discovered after torquing that the “clicker” doesn’t work on my torque wrench at anything below 25 lb-ft. So I accidentally overtightened the valve to probably 40-50lb-ft. My question is this: Did I ruin the pressure relief disc? The instructions were pretty clear about making sure to torque the fitting properly. I can re-torque to the correct specification but I just want to be sure that the rupture disc is ok. It looks just like it did when I opened the package.
