With stock type head gaskets and head bolts, I would think hard before going with more than a 150 shot. If you do everything right with the tune, timing and proper high octane race fuel, individual port injection, and didn't hit the button or had it apply progressively so it doesn't zap the engine at under 5000 rpm, maybe 250. All nitrous engines are running on borrowed time, not from wearing out but until you make a mistake. Make sure you have enough fuel pump. Even just bouncing the engine off the rev limiter can be a disaster with a big shot of nitrous behind it.

I sprayed a 250 shot on a stock 150k ls1 for 3 seasons almost every weekend. Everyone says 99 ls1 is supposed to be one of the weakest ls engine. Never hurt a piston or head gasket or anything. Never had a valve cover off. Afraid to left the magic out. Lol
