Hi everyone! I have a very unique issue and it has left me scratching my heads. I recently installed my NX Maximizer EZ Progressive Controller and I have noticed that my Fuel Solenoid is not pulsing.
Let me explain in detail. I have my NX EZ set at a 1 sec ramp, when I arm my system and go WOT (It's on a WOT Switch), only the Nitrous Solenoid pulses, while my Fuel Solenoid would be delayed for 1 sec (Or whatever I have my controller set to), then it would just fully open. It does not want to pulse!
Per NX instructions, I have wired it exactly as the provided diagram shows.
Now, I have done some changes to try and further diagnose this issue. As we can see from the wiring diagram, both + solenoid wires are ran into 1 + wire, and same goes with the - wires of the solenoids. I thought maybe running each ground separately to the - Batt terminal would fix it. NOPE. Same ordeal still.
Next step I did was unplugged the ground wire of the Nitrous Solenoid to stop it from activating. Fuel solenoid wires are still hooked up, obviously. I wanted to try and see if the Nitrous Solenoid was overpowering the Fuel Solenoid in a sense. Even with the Nitrous Solenoid unhooked, the Fuel Solenoid is still not pulsing.
Here's some details about my set up
- Nitrous Outlet 78mm Plate
- ZEX Pro Nitrous Solenoid
- DynoTune 250hp Fuel Solenoid
- NX Maximizer EZ
- WOT Switch
- 1 Gal Fuel Return Cell - Nitrous Only
I know it can be a possibility that the fuel solenoid I have is somehow incompatible with the NX Maximizer EZ. I already contacted NX and even they were confused with the situation. I mentioned that I'll be running separate grounds, but if that doesn't work, that it could be a Coil issue according to them?
Anyone with experience want to chime in? I'm stumped.
System works extremely well if the progressive controller is disabled. But I need this to work as I just spin the wheels all day on a full hit lol...
I will attach videos to clarify further what is happening. 3272 is a video of my regulator, 3273 shows the nitrous solenoid pulsing and the fuel solenoid delayed until the ramp set it over (1 sec as that's where i had it set), 3275 is a video when I disable the progressive controller, it works fine.
With the nitrous noid unplugged and just running the fuel, it should progress. It sounds like you might have a coil issue on the fuel noid. Both should be progressing without an issue, especially with you running independent grounds to offer the best connection possible. Do you have anyone local to you that you could grab a noid from to test to see if it would pulse in the setup? That would let you know if it was a coil issue or not.

Thanks for the response. I actually ended up buying a new solenoid and it works as it should now! I figured it was the coil after unplugging the nitrous noid, so I just ended up buying a new fuel solenoid after that test. All is good now.
