Default N2o Solenoid leaks?

Hey guys,

I just took my nitrous solenoid out of the box for some testing. I connected the hose to the "in", put the 1/8" pipe plug in the hole directly opposite it (which I assume is the purge).

The hole on the bottom is uncovered.

With the solenoid disconnected from the car, when I blow on the hose it leaks air from the inlet to the outlet (without being energized).

This seems wrong. Is this normal?

When I first took the solenoid out of the box the black lid (that says NX on it)
started to unscrew so, I put it baack the way it came and tightened the bolt on top by hand. It still leaked, so I tightened it lightly with a wrench.

Any clue what's up here?

Steve

sounds defective. I would send it back to NX for replacement.

Sometimes they will do that, before you send it back just kick it on with some juice and it should stop.
