Default Jet Question??

I'm in the process of installing an NX EFI kit for a Viper on my 02 SS, and I've got a question...

Although the Viper kit comes with two nozzles and the ability to run a 300 shot, I'm going to install it with one nozzle (similar to the NX GM EFI kit), and in talking with Nitro Dave, it sounds like I need 62 (N) / 33 (F) jets to run a 150 shot.

I've got a 62 jet, but I don't have any 33's. I do have a 35 jet, however.

My question is, what kind of difference (if any) would I see using the 35 (F) jets instead of the 33's?? Would it be noticeable?? I'm guessing if anything, it should be a little richer, correct??

This is my first time installing/running a nitrous setup, so I really have no feel for how much a difference this would make, so any insight would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!

Paul...

Anyone?? All I'm really looking for is how much of an impact, if any, would running a 35 fuel jet cause in place of a 33??

Yes a 35 will make it run richer. A little rich shouldn't hurt anything, but the safe thing to do with nitrous is get a wideband dyno run to make sure where the a/f is.

Thanks for the reply. I plan on tuning on a dyno w/wideband once I get it all together and the Racetronix installed. Just wasn't sure if I needed to go out and get the 33's before tuning, or if the 35's would be close enough.

Will be good to have the 33 on hand when you tune. Are you just throwing th 35 in to play with for now?

I'd really like to be able to get it all tuned and good to go in one shot, so I guess I should probably pick up the 33, huh??

Once I finish everything up, the goal is to get to the dyno, make a couple NA pulls to check my a/f for my NA tune, then pull the tune down to an a/f of 11.5:1 timing at 24 degrees and let her rip.

I'm looking to run a 150 shot and hopefully hit some low 10's before the season's up

You're on the right track and I'd pick up a 33 and start with that.

Good luck.
