Default N20 System Reconditions? Few questions…

I’ve got heads and cam on order along with a list of other stuff and I’d like to get some recommendations on a nitrous system.

I’m looking to spray a 150 wet shot and I’m completely open for setup suggestions as far as switches, brands, shot size ect.

My budget is about 1000.00 for the nitrous system but I don’t want a cheap system, pretty much the best I guess.

Any help would be appreciated!

-Jeremy

EDIT: The valve train is all new/aftermarket but the rotating assembly is stock 02 with 6k miles so lets not blow anything up…

Also, the cam is designed to favor N20 and I’m also ordering the Racetronix fuel system.

$1000 is a good budget to have for a wet set up, you can get pretty much get everything you need. Most people here stick with the NX or TNT wet kits and both are great set ups. I have the TNT power ring set up and I really like the nozzle design that they have and the overal kit but the NX install is much simpler and cleaner looking. What do you have for a transimision? A window switch is a good idea to have and I even run one on my A4. Also, you will want to pick up a bottle heater, purge, remote opener and gauge (depending on where you mount the bottle), and a bottle blanket is a good idea too but not a must have unless the bottle is in the sun. The Racetronixs set up should be able to fuel everything (I think it comes with a hot wire kit).

Mine is a six speed car. Any specific brand I should look into for the window switch, WOT switch and other accessories?

The TNT MAF kit looks pretty good, I may order that as soon as a find a ‘good deal’ on it. Sponsors?

Will my stock injectors need to be replaced to handle the 150 shot?

it been said that it would be a good idea for you to replace your fuel pump to a 255 wal. unit. But if you have an 2002 you should have ok injectors for it , you have the 28.8 correct?

Injectors won't come into play on a wet kit.
Check with Nitro Dave on the NX MAF kit. That is where I bought mine.

The Gen-X II add-on will give you almost everything you want except for the Window Switch. MSD is a good one. The digital one is nice.

I have the Mallory (no pills), but I don't think they sell them anymore.

I think I remember seeing posts about Nitro Dave making up complete packages with everything you need for alittle less money. Not sure if it was a 1 time deal or something he always does, you should ask him about it.

BTW: Don't forget to pick up a set of colder plugs. Most guys use NGK TR-6s gapped .035-.040. Since your car is a H/C car you might even need to go alittle colder but I'm not positive about that.

Good call there! Sounds like you're on the way to some real fun. Don't forget to set a little money aside for a check on the a/f via a wideband. It's a great way to keep the motor alive a long time. I'm running a 150 shot on my stock bottom end and haven't gotten all of the power out if yet. Enjoy!

Who makes the most trick looking wideband that also works well of course.
I wouldn’t mind mounting one on the center console some place as long as it looks good, otherwise I may have to hide it.

youll be happy with the MAF kit, I like mine very much. Nice thing is that Nitro Dave's will give you all the tech help you need for install and tuning. Dont run the NGK -8's on the 150 shot...I tried that and it didn't work well at all. I am using the TR-6's on a 200 shot with 4 degrees of timing pulled out (timing tuner) and it works fine.

I like the timing tuner over the MSD window switch...its costs more but it retards timing only when on the bottle AND acts as a window switch...something to think about. However, on a 150 shot, you probably wont need any timing retard.

The timing tuner is a great upgrade from the window switch

I have some NKG TR55's I just installed with the headers, will these work alright or do I need to swap out for TR6's?
