Default Hide Nitrous or not?

My car is loud and lopes, there is no doubt in anyones mind that it has had some work. Im about to install a nitrous system and Im not sure if I want to place the bottle in the spare tire compartment and hide the gauges. Or if I want to put the bottle between the rear seats and mount the gauges on the a-pillar. Its really the gauges, I like the look of a-pillar gauges if they are done right, but that pretty much lets everyone know that youre up to something or you suck and have nothing (like most people around here).

Any thoughts?

Isnt there a new Pioneer radio that has a mode that allows you to have gauges on-screen? that way people wont see them so easily and you can hide them easy.
Just throwing out an idea.

If your mainly a street racer then yes i would say hide it. If you just want it for pleasure then there wouldn't really be a point to hiding IMO..

The pioneer head unit you're talking about is this...

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...169030,00.html

It has on screen gauges for normal stuff and also things that a G-Tech would give you. I couldnt find anything saying that it would support a N20 gauge. That would be pretty slick though, all on screen killage...

So even with the lope and loudness, still hide it for any street racing?

If like to hustle alittle on the street, hide it. If not stick it between the seats. If you stick it between the seats it's easy to get in and out for refills, and you don't need a remote opener or remote gauge.

Just put it in your rear tub. You are already loud and peeps will think somthin is up. Just dont pop your hood. It's "Run what ya brung!" Now your only prob is that when u hit it, everyone is gonna hear it, so gig is up anyway.

Well I didnt want to mount it in the tub because I have T-Tops and use that spot quite a bit. Also, my windows are so dark that you cant see in the back seat to see the bottle. What it really comes down to are the gauges. Ill probably just go all out and put them on the a-pillar. Just because you have gauges doesnt always mean youre fast

Sure it's run watcha brung, but if you do any type of real money racing and you're trying to hide the gas... you better find a place to hide yourself too.

Just stay away from Silver Z's in the Friendswood area that run around on Pro-Stars and could possibly having a shoot hanging off the back of it.. I dont care how many hidden kits you have

Good luck man.. If you ever need any help PM me or hit me up on AOL. I think I know a little bit about these cars

Does anyone make a bottle bracket for the spare tire compartment? Or is this all fabrication? I can make something if there is nothing available from the aftermarket.

dont bother hiding it....thats a ricer move. Just don't pop your hood. All nitrous is only another part you put on your car to make it faster. Its not cheating, its a speed part like anything else.

Well the only reason Im still considering hiding it now is so I wont have any trouble from the police. Im pretty sure its legal to have the bottle in as long as its not open, but it just gives them one more reason to be a pain. Its not a D-Driver though

Ive always liked the look of a bottle in the back seat mounded on the drive shaft tunnel.
Ill probably need a bottle bracket regardless of where I mount it, so Im still open for suggestions.

I have a single bottle bracket in the fender.. It holds the bottle up, its the shorter one, it mounts towards the top of the bottle. Also HRP is very strict about stuff about stuff like that.. but if they cant see it its all good. It does look good on the tranny tunnel though... That is all up to you also.. As far as gauges go... EVERYONE has them even if they dont have n2o, blower, big motor, etc..

I've never had a problem with the police really, when I use to drive the car on the street I just got nods from them, they loved the car. I sat next to the DOT officer at a stop light and he gave me the thumbs up.. I was on ET-Drags, ET-Fronts, Cut-out open, 5-pt Harness on and 1 seat lol.
