Manual cars and Nitrous.
Looking at power adders and N20 seems to be good way to go. But I am concerned on how to manage the application with a manual box car. I understand some of the basics but still cloudy on alot of details. I have a 99 Corvette MN6 (of course) and looking at runnig A 100 shot. I have been run DR's and launching at 3500rpm. So how do I incorperate a Nitrous system, so I can launch hard and apply the juice then have the system shut off for gear changes.
A TPS switch will shut off the nitrous and shut it back on when you let out of the gas and back on the gas.It works just like a micro switch but is electrical. It reads the voltage from the tps sensor.

You need a window switch. You can set the rpms that it'll come on at AND that it will shut off at. It you shift at 6000 then set the window switch to shut off at 6100 etc. This way if you miss a gear or hit the rev limiter your safe.
Still learning the new terminalogy, last car was a 79 Trans Am. So A TPS switch will solve the on off issue of changing gears. I am assuming that TPS is the acronym for Throttle Position Sensor. So when I let off the gas the nitrous is shut off. I think I have that one. Now the window switch, this can be program to turn on the nitrous at X value and off at Y value. So would the nitrous be a wasted effort if the setting was 4-6K? If the track is hooking well I can launch upwards to 4.2K. To date ny best was a 12.58 with a 4.5K launch and with a window switch, this would be launching on the spray which is likely not very good.
Here is how it would work…
You need a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and a window switch. The only way the n20 will spray with this configuration is if you are at WOT (wide open throttle) within the window (RPM Range).
I have my window switch set to spray from 3000 to 6100 RPM. So any time I’m at WOT within this window I will be on n20. Unless you launch at WOT, you wouldn’t spray off the line so you wouldn’t have any trouble. Also, I read some place that there was a way to make it not spray in 1st, know anything about this Dave? That would defiantly solve the launching issue.

A TPS Switch is a WOT switch except it is wired to your PCM to measure when you are WOT instead of using a switch connected to the Throttle body. Obviously vettes have Electronic throttle control so you couldnt use a regular WOT inside the engine bay. That is why most vette owners use the TPS switch. I have known some people to hook up their WOT switches to the gas pedal and that is an alternative you may want to explore.
I run a WOT switch under the pedal on my Vette. I heard to many bad stoires about the TPS switch, plus the WOT switch is easy and works. Save your money for the other needed stuff: FPSS, window switch, pressure gauge, etc. Also I lift slightly during shifts but you still need the window switch in the event you ever miss a shift.
Most vette guys run the micro switch under the throttle pedal, cleaner. There is a install pic of a Micro switch installed in my photos in web sight. This might give you a yes/no on your choice.
