Surging on a full bottle?

Default Surging on a full bottle?

Got a fresh fill the other day. When I took it out for a 3rd and 4th gear run getting on the highway I noticed pretty pronounced surging. The bottle pressure was ~950 PSI prior to the run and ~900 after. My setup is the NOS dry setup converted to a wet setup using a Nitrous Works fuel noid at the rail and a NOS soft plume fogger right before the TB.

I wouldn't think 900 PSI would be low enough to surge. Could there be something wrong with my setup to cause this? This is not the first time I have felt the surging. I'm running 55/30 jets which may be too fat, would this cause surging? I didn't have my multimeter hooked up to be able to monitor the A/F ratio at that time so I can't say where it was at.

Every setup is different, but generally the nitrous settings are set up really fat. I have always had best results with about 1150 psi with the recommended jetting.

Yea, it has done this before. I can check the bottle weight I guess.

you may have a bunch of air in the bottle. I have seen where i had 7# left in my 15# bottle and it was all air. car acted similair to yours. I have a dry shot though so yours would be more pronounced. Do you have the NOS remote bottle opener? Mine caused surging also

Do you still have the FPSS? If so have you checked that? Mine used to surge bad when I had the FPSS hooked up. It would shut the system off & on during a run. It was really noticeable felt like the trans was slipping!

These are all good ideas. I don't have the FPSS installed so it's not that. No remote opener either. I would hope I didn't get a fill full of air but only a weigh would tell. If you have 7# in the bottle it would have to be N2O though right? Never heard of 7# of air being in the bottle. I can see being mislead on bottle pressure and having it be air but not weight of the bottle.

Your probably running too rich and that is why it is surging. Make sure you did not mix up the fuel and nitrous jets or it will surge too---I have done this before being hurried and the car surged like crazy. If that isn't the case, step down a couple jet sizes on the fuel and see if that fixes it.

Thats correct Air Doesnt weigh anything, if the bottle still weighs correct, crack the valve a little and make sure you are getting a good stream of nitrous

Well the purge has a nice stream of nitrous so I think I am getting good flow at least up to the actual N2O noids. I'll weigh the bottle, double check the jets and if everything checks out I'll step down a jet or two and monitor what it does to the O2 voltage. If I get off my *** I'll also hook up my warmer and get the pressure up to ~1100 just to be sure.

Well I rigged up my bottle warmer and @ 1100 PSI there is no surging. That solves that I guess.

My N/A O2 voltages are .93 and my nitrous O2's are very similar, like .91-.92. This seems pretty lean don't you think?
