Default 550 RWHP and a Walbro 340 pump.

Question! Will a 340 pump and 30lb SVO injectors be enough for 550rwhp? say 425 on motor and a 125dry shot.

Thanks Rob

It is for me...I have a 382 stroker and 200 wet shot...I was just tuned very conservatively (fat) on a mustang dyno, got 580 rwhp and 644 rwtq..

Single Walboro 340
Hotwire kit
30 lb SVO injectors
GM MAF kit from NX
stock rails, lines, regulator...

I installed a Kenne Bell boost-a-pump, and found out that it was not needed (actually flooded the **** out of it even at 20%!). I left it on, but it is at zero...

I still have to lean out the fuel jet from 44 to 42, the stock jetting was too rich...should pick up a little power, clost to 600 rwhp on a mustang dyno (A4, converter unlocked, big wheels and tires).

I am happy it does feed it well....lots of $$$ and aggrivation to do a sumped tank, big external pump, big line, remount the FP regualtor, etc.

I'm running one & on the spray my car is probably putting down something in the Neighborhood of 550 rwhp.

Bad thing is that you have to do some modifying to get it to work right in an LS1 tank. If I had to do it all over again, I would spend the extra $100 & go with the Racetronix Plug & Play setup. In fact I have a buddy that is a Tech for gm & he told me that the next time he pulls a sending unit assembly out of an F-Body he's gonna give it to me & I'm gonna pull the Walbro & go with the Racetronix setup. The walbro gives me plenty of fuel, but with the racetronix setup you don't have to cut up the bucket that your pump goes in and you can hook up the little priming line, just like the stock pump.

I run 2 Walbro 255's. One feeds the engine and 1 feeds the dp system. 2 seperate fuel lines for each one.

The pump will be fine...if you want more room do a hotwire kit. The injectors will be pretty close though.

The injectors would be on the edge. Perhaps some 32's will provide a bit more headroom?

A 340 pump would be marginal @ 550RWHP w/o an upgrade harness depending on your motor's BSFC. The upgrade harness would provide the extra headroom / safety margin you would require. Running w/o the fill bucket also has its issues. The details of its purpose are covered in our ad here:

I plan on running a 100 shot of TNT on top of my cammed motor. I'm guessing 380-390 on motor and 500rwhp/550rwtq on the bottle. Will I HAVE to have a new fuel pump? A lot of people are telling me I will be fine....

There is a wide window of variation when it comes to factory fuel pumps. The real question is how much of a gamble are you willing to take vs. the cost of a proper system. A fuel pump system is probably one of the least expensive upgrades you can install in your vehicle yet one of the most important. A good fuel system is an insurance policy for your motor. Motor jobs don't come cheap and N2O can be quite volatile when not enough fuel is at hand.

Thanks for all the replies. I wish I wouldn't of bought this walbro already I would put in a racetronx. But I bought this before the racetronix system was even available. Unless you guys want to take it in on trade....

I'll watch the injector duty cycle once I get it setup.

Not much safety margin there.
Not something we would recommend.

That depends on how much more HP you want to build...

Question...will a dry shot tax the fuel system (in terms of pump and lines) more than a wet kit (assuming both at 60 psi)???

If both are running off the injector rail the dry system will typically be very slightly more efficient / use less fuel. Larger fuel injectors are required in most cases. Most people use a wet system as it is easier to tune and less expensive to implement.
