Default NX or H/C??

I started a post in the external section as to where to go first,Im ready to drop some cash and was trying to get some opinions on where to put the $$$..Heads/Cam package or NX maf kit..seems like alot more power and LESS money just to spray the car..With the money difference I can buy a 12 bolt.. A,little help..Thanks

Personally I think nitrous ONLY is pretty lame, because when the bottle is empty you suck again.

I’m doing nitrous, heads and cam in my car. You can see my other post in the nitrous section if you would like to see what the MAF kit does for a full bolt-on car since I don’t have my h/c installed yet.

N/A power is really better for street use anyway, nitrous is really too explosive for my liking on the street. With the system purged, I can be in third and romp on it. I’ll see the RPM’s climb but the car wont accelerate much because I’m just smokein it. This is with the 275 F1’s though, they will be gone soon and hopefully it will help that problem.

Ive got about all the other bolt-on mod's you can do, I guess Ill start looking for some 5.3 heads and see who can get me a good cam in a GP..I bought the NX MAF kit tonight so Ill go for both and see how long the 10 bolt lasts..

My 10 bolt spewed oil all over the dyno the first time I ever sprayed it. I’m not so sure how much longer it’s going to hold. One sorta good thing is that now the clutch just smokes and slips, the car has 6700 miles on it..

I won't go anywhere close to a track until I get a new rear..

I would recomend TEA or AFR 205's for heads. I ordered and am waiting for S2.5 5.3ltr heads from Absolute Speed. It's been 3 months and no word on when they will ship..

3 months??damn, thats no good!! I found some used heads on the board Im considering, Stage 2 5.3's..any advice for a cam, cars going to be mostly street driven but will see its share of track time so Id like something thats good N/A as well as nitrous friendly..I like the TSP Magicsticks and Futral seems to have some nice grinds..

I'm not a big fan of TSP cams, I would get a F13 from Futral for your setup. I'm having 93pony on the forum spec out a custom cam to match everything else on my engine, you might want to PM him if you're interested in a custom grind.

One other thing about the F13 is that you won't need to fly cut unless the heads are milled. Fly cutting with nitrous isn't the best idea.

Power without a beefed up drive train is wasted money. I made my drivetrain bulletproof first and spray my stock internal car. I somehow get by with only running in the 10's. Sure ill go into the motor for more N/A power but at least my foundation is laid first. I think you would be alot happier with the MAF kit and a twelve bolt. What tranny do you have?

You spray a 250 shot on a stock motor? Wow you must have a hell of a tune.

I did nitrous for two years, it served its purpose at the track. But got tired of filling the bottle.
