M6/4.30 GEARS,26IN TIRE & 100 SHOT,WILL I MAKE IT THROUGH THE 1/4MI IN 4TH GEAR?
I'm doing it now with a 4.11 gear and 26in tire. can i do with a 4.30 gear same tire? my rev is at 6,800rpm's. my car bogs out of the hole at 6,500rpm launch, thats why i'm looking at the 4.30 gears. does anyone have this set up? thanks, mike c.

I "think" that you would be fine. A lot would depend on your heads/cam/rwhp set up.
Last year - bolt-ons only, M6, Moser 12-bolt - 332rwhp, 100 shot (430rwhp), 26x10x15 it wouldn't finish, ended up runing out of gear at the 1000'. BUT this was on stock engine, red-line at stock 6250. I had to go to 28x10.5 - ran 11.38 at 124mph
With the your red-line at 6800 you should finish fine with 100 and 4.30's. Now comes the question - you'll easily run low 11's. Want to run a 150 shot, how about 200 shot? Want 10's? You'll need to go to AT LEAST 28's, maybe even 30", for the 200 shot.
But for now, 26x10 (or 10.5)x15, 4.30, red line at 6800, you'll do just fine.

Launching that high you shouldn't be bogging....anyway, if you run out of RPM switch to a 28" tire with the 430's. In a issue of GMHT there are 8 10 second cars- most are running a 28" tire. The one that was running a 430 gear with a 28" tire was shifting at 7200 with a solid roller cam. Your best bet is to change both tire size and gears or just leave it alone.430 gears are fine for NA but it may be too steep for spray.Read up and do some more research. IMO a 430 is going to be too steep for you unless you you have a engine that will rev up to 7-7200 and still make power. The 430 gear and 28" tire car went a best of 9.89 @ 143 with a 1.46 60ft. So you say you rev it to 6800RPM...... with 430's and nos you will run out of gear unless you switch to a 28" tire which will kill some of the gear and might put you back in the same situation.Spray sooner and leave the gears alone, easy fix

NAVYSS-low 11's? hell i run 11.3's on the motor and 10.8's on the 100shot.02SOMWS6-yeah i thought i might not make it,i just thought i would never bog at 6,500rpm's. i have hal's so i guess i need to tweek them some.KURTOMAC-yes i have 4.11 gears and still bog with 14psi in my tires, but when i went to 18psi i started spinning and no i don't spray out of the hole. going to a 4.30 with a 28in tire, wont a taller tire make the 4.30 go back down to a 4.11? how would that fix the boging problem? i will also have to mod the fenders for a taller tire too, right? i'll try to tune the tire psi and hals to try to solve this boging problem,or i launch at 6,800. thanks all, mike c.
