Default what cams can/cant you spray

im running a 100 dry shot, I am wondering what cams you can or can not spray. I have heard that you cant spray some cams. I was considering the small Gen 3 hotcam. does anyone know if you can spray 100+ shot on that cam and be very safe??

thanks

If you're spraying 150 or less, just pick the cam you want for NA performance and go with it. It isn't until you start spraying larger shots (200+) that a nitrous specific grind becomes noticeably advantageous.

That's what I've read, anyway.

What he said, the cam selection wont really matter until you get into bigger shots. I ran a 228/234 588/598 114+2 cam a couple of years ago and I really liked it NA, and it LOVED the bottle

what about the ASA cam. the spec's are 226/236 .525 .525 110 LSA
can you spray a 100 on that and still be okay.

Thats a pretty tight LSA even for a small shot though, the hotcam would work pretty good to 150 or so.

i especially here that u shouldn't spray with reverse-split cams with low lsa's.

I'm no expert at cam/nitrous. I have yet to run into to cam that doesn't like nitrous. Everyone said the TSP 231/237 598/595 112 +2 would not do good on nitrous.

I'm sorry but they were wrong!!! Mine loves it. I'm running a 200 shot right now. On a stock bottom end, mild Stag II PP heads and the TSP cam, weighting in at 3550lbs, my SS just ran a new best of 10.082 at 132mph. It was frairly consistent from 10.082 to 10.19 at 131-132. I'd say that's not to bad. The SS will under go a weight reduction and hope for 9's next year - still stock bottom end.

There you go You read right!

There really no cam you CANT spray. Its just with large amounts of spray you need a nitrous specific cam to yeild the best gains. Any cam/motor will respond well to nitrous

Yeah nitrous likes a wide duration(within reason) and lsa like 112-114 some higher lift on the exhaust side

any cam with 112 LSA or higher is fine....otherwise its probably a N/A only cam in most instances
