How can you build a standalone fuel system using the stock fuel tank? I know I have seen a few people do this...

Just run lines to your stock tank instead of the 1 or 2 gallon fuel cell. You'd have to have some kinda sump and return, but I don't think it would be any diffrent than having a fuel cell up front. Just more line. It would be very easy with a metal tank, but a plastic tank would be a little more triky. You might have to think fo a minute on the plastic.

A stand alone fuel system would allow you to run high octane gas. This is a major plus to me. Plus, I feel (probably in the minority) that its easier to tune a low pressure nitrous setup vs a high pressure.
I plan on doing something like this...

In my opinion a stand alone fuel system is a very good way to go. They are not that expensive to do either. It will also allow you to run a higher octance gas in the nitrous cell. We can put together a stand alone system for right around $450 or so with everything you need to make it work, including tank, lines & fittings. Good luck with your project.
Thanks

I think Phil wants his Stock Gas Tank(s) Plumbed for a Stand Alone Fuel Sytem for his Nitrous setup Fellas instead of seperate Fuel Cells.

Just put a 8an tank bung in your tank at the bottom or lower side towards back you can get them from jeg or summit its a fitting with two nylon washers and a nut for the inside of tank. This is the way mine is done and i drilled a 6an at the top of the tank for the return line worked out nice.
Ok, sorry Phil, maybe I am missing something but WTH would you want to run a piggyback fuel ssytem rather than a stand alone? Piggybacking off the stock tank will require you to use more race gas than traditional stand alone. I get the whole running a separate pump to keep from starving the rails and injectors, but just sounds like you could a helluva lot more with a stand alone.

I like my stand alone, but if you want the stock tank Tuff said it, just tap off the tank, and run a feed to a pump and regulator, and into the noids.
should be pretty simple. just have to drop the tank.
