Default Nitrous Express "NXL", yes or no?

Hey guys,

Looking into Nitrous to go a bit faster. What do you guys think of the Nitrous Express "NXL"?

If not, what would you suggest?

Where would you buy it?

Man, what kinda kit is that on your Z? There are lines going everywhere!

I was looking for the NXL or similar because I am a newbie to the Nitro game and I thought it's "plug and play" application was just what I wanted. I am however open minded.

If you would like to make suggestions, I'm looking for something to give me ~100hp at the wheels on a stock motor and head setup. I have all the boltons and suspension done. I want to go wet, not dry. Oh, and I want to be able to adapt the system and go bigger later when I build the motor for more... internals, heads, etc... I looked on the site and found several LS1 systems.

What do you think? How hard is it to install these systems? Does everything come with the kit or would I need other stuff?

I believe thats the tnt power ring kit. I just got it myself and kinda thinking about using a standard shark nozzle myself.

Are there any advantages of using the power ring?

its a TNT F1 wet kit. here's another pic of it (from another htread) :

i love the kit, it hits prettyhard (some people dont like that) and makes some serious torque. plus, TNT kits are supposedly rated at the wheels, so a 100 shot will give you 100rwhp gain.

I noticed you have the MAF translator and MSD box. What else do I need to look at that doesn't come with the kit?

First of how much are you looking to spray on the car that will definitly help decided what kit you should get. I personally dont like the NXL as for the price you can get a true direct port system or if you dont need that power level NX offers their MAF kit which works great.

Well, I am looking for a 100hp boost at the wheels now but I will want it upgradable to probably at least 250hp after I build the motor.

I would say the NX MAF Kit would work best for you it offers a dual stage setup, has a clean look, and is relatively easy to install when compared to a direct port setup. If you interested we are a NX dealer so give us a call and I can get you a kit at a good price.

i had a maf translator, now i just use hptuners to tune the car. with any kit you get, i would suggest a window switch (especially on a m6), wot switch (almost all kits include it), and a fuel pressure safety switch (im using an NX one, works great)

OK, thanks. Just a side note, everyone thinks using nitrous is the cheap way to go fast... some guys I know say it's cheating. I think they are sorely mistaken. There is a lot of money involved in doing this right. I was looking at the prices of these switches etc and it's not cheap. By time you get done, you could go turbo or SC.

Usaullty up to $1500 or so wil be spend on a decent safe system that will provide a 50-200hp gain to the tires. Its worth it though and still cheaper then forced induction.

Not even close supercharger your looking at starting prices to make similar power up like $5000 and up. Turbos even more. Nitrous has been and will always be the cheapest way to make power. People who call it cheating do that cause they lose.

Yeah, I guess you're right, you can go faster with nitrous for less money. It just seems like a lot of money when you are adding up all the required "optional" items!

I still want to go fast on a budget. N2O does that.

What's the best way to program for the system once you get it put in? I have a Hypertech PP3 but that thing gives you no adjustability that I know of. It's either "yes" or "no".

What do you guys use? LS1 edit?

Hypertech won't get it done. LS1 Edit is quickly losing ground in the tuning market. HP Tuners is the way to go. Can't beat their prices, software or support.
