Default Ok i'm doin standalone

alright i've decided on a standalone fuel system for the spray.. itll be filled with vp's no2 fuel at all times.. heres my question High or low pressure?? i searched and got conflicting answers.. only people with expierience in this please it would be much appreciated.. why do they say low pressure is easier to tune?? what makes it that way?? just kinda confused on that point

Ok single nozzle or direct port? The main benifit of low pressure is your jetting options, or between size jetting. With a standalone high or low pressure you can make adjustments to your regulator for richer or leaner. On low pressure to change your tune make a small psi change. On high pressure you must make a larger psi change to see the same effect.

Ricky do you happen to have the Jets for a NX Single Nosle kit with a Lower Pressure Stand alone?

Yes I have some hp settings for low psi on a single nozzle. But if you are just using a single nozzle why not just stay at high pressure and keep the standard patterns? I can give you any jetting you need for our kits. I will need to know which pump/reg and how you are planning on setting up the fuel system.

I knew it. I knew you couldn' use the same EFI (high psi) jetting for a low psi system, just had never seen anyone confirm it. Thanks alot Ricky. I may be hitting you up soon for a low psi system for my bird. You're being here really makes a difference.

I visit another forum where Butch hangs out and it makes for some very interesting nitrous conversations.

well i'm really thinking low pressure do to the ease of building the standalone unit.. probably use like i holly red pump and a holley regulator as i have them both already.. gunna build a cell that sits where the battery used to be (probably about 1.2/2 gallons and make it a return style system)

would i be better off return less?? this is all new to me so i'm guessing here

Holley Red pump runs at 5.5 psi preset from the factory. It does not require a regulator.

If you are going to run a low pressure setup, get more pump then you need. A Holley black will support the 9 to 10 PSI that a NX kit requires. I personally preferred running my fuel cell with a return/bleed off to the tank. A simple 1 gallon cell will let you get a lot of passes in. I'll put my writeup back on line tonight so you can see all the details of the install. It's very easy to do and tuning it is very easy.

Just remember that if you have a fogger you need to have the kit flowed every time you go to the track. Without having the kit flowed you can run into some MAJOR problems.

The car will be out this year. I just spent a lot of time helping Harlan out and as a result I didn't get any time to work on mine. It should be pretty cool when it's all done. More details will come later on.

I already ran this setup. It works like a champ. I just didn't run it at all this year as I was too busy.

here are my thoughts holley red pumps are ok up to 200 hp but not worth taking the risk. the holley blue pumps are junk!!! well the ones that are new the crome looking ones. the old blue style were really reliable but i have had 4 crome blue pumps fail on my carbed nova. i think a much higher quality pump should be run like a bg of manga fuel. i run a product engineering they are the best quality out there!!! remember no fuel = no engine

p.s. it is not very wise to not run a regulator on any fuel pump espically one that claims it was set from factory. fuel flow varys on my things such as current and heat.
