who does not run nitrous with a filter
Since your vendors filter their nitrous it's probrably not a must have for you, but for $50 it's cheap insurance. If you have a nitrous solenoid hang open it's probrably not going to be pretty. At the very least, put a filtered fitting at the noid. 
FWIW: My supplier filters the nitrous when they fill the mother bottles, I also run a filter on my refill station and in the car. It is possible to get junk inside the bottle nut after a refill. Many people just crack the bottle open real quick to clean out the nut before putting a bottle in the car.

If the thread were leaking just put some red loctite on the pipe threads and reinstall. That should seal it.
