Default how much to spray on a forged rod/pistons 346 with mild n2o cam?

if i upgrade to forged rods and diamond pistons with a light hone, can i spray more then 150? more then 200? eagle rods by the way. arp rod bolts. prolly a cam ranging from z06 cam to 233/239 tsp cam.. havn't made up my mind, stock heads!

willing to upgrade fuel pump ofcourse and injectors if needed..

but on just a 346 with cam and 150 shot vs forged 346 with cam and 200 shot willl i really gain anything since im not going with 383?

With a forged bottom end you can spray 250 easy. IF -- a big IF -- you are willing to finish the project. The cam is a great idea. Throw the stock heads in the garbage. Buy a good set of heads. Get upgraded springs, etc. If you can't rev to 6500+ you are leaving to much on the table. Upgrade your fuel pump and IMO injectors to the 30lb SVO (36# for us). Make sure you have all the safety stuff (window switches, etc).

Would you gain by going to a 383? Of course. Is it worth it? You can only be the judge of that.

Get you suspension upgraded. Get a set of real tires

I'm running a stock bottom end, head and cam car. 200 shot .. best of a 10.08. BUT I have done my home work on tranny, rear-end, and suspension. Like it was told to me, if you have the power and can't put it to the ground, all the power in the world isn't ****.

Good luck

David

beutiful advice..

with any of the cams im looking at i still want some streetability... i will be running the 4l60e though.. its been rebuilt right, and should last a lil while, the 10 bolt is a concern lol, but i figure it'll hold a few 200 shots from a roll ya know..

i was thinking this

forged pistons rods
233/239 by tsp
maybe upgrading to 3500 converter
3.73
150-225 shot at most with a good tune.. i plan on getting hp tuners and getting a dyno tune for n/a, and 100-200 shots so i can simply swap the tunes out after i have a professional make the tunes. might just do the forged pistons and run a cam/150-200 shot.

In your case I would use a Yank SY3500. It doesn't hit the rearend near as hard. It has a lower STR then a stock converter. LOL

With forged pistons and rods you can spray whatever amount you want. I don't see why 400 isn't acceptable. Our cranks will hold whatever power and that aluminum block is very strong. Don't be scared of the bottle.......as long as you have some way of tunning it you are in good shape.

Im running a 347 with lunati rods, and dimond pistions, i run a mild cam and good heads. im planning on a 300+ shot, last year i hit it with a 200-225 shot
the right build will hold the spray well.
Im doing another car now with east side. good friend of mine. we are doing egle rods/arp bolts, dimond pistions, nitrated cranck he has a mild cam and ls1 heads but done up, and a intank pump. we will hit it with a 150 shot from a NOSzle system, and eventualy we will hit it with a 200-250 with a stand alone fuel system like mine.
i would save the money on a crank and keep it 346
good luck

I got a SY3500 for sale....used it for a year...bout 12,000 miles on it. I had a M6 swapped instead...then I totalled the car. 400 dollars and you pay for shipping and its yours. If interested PM me your information and I can send pictures.
