Default Corvette and installing a TNT kit ???

Okay I want a TNT kit on the z06, I will have a electric bottle heater, msd switch, and bottle opener.

I want to know how hard was it for you to install on the vette, and is there a way when you arm the system the tracktion control goes off, I don't want to be stupid and accidently blow my motor cause I didn't take traction contorl off. What are the options, and how hard was it to wire all this up to a vette ??

I have done a camaro, but the vette is different, any directions to go by or any how toos would help.

Thanks

I did mine over a weekend but I was taking my time to keep things clean and uncluttered. As for the traction control I am not sure how you would do that. I just push the button to off if I have the bottle open.[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] I installed this so that you only see one nozzel insted of both.

I have had a TNT F1 Kit before, I actually had TNT do the work I drove from houston to Tyler and had them do it. This was back in 99. at the time there was a guy named Dale if I remember correctly that had some kind of activation switch that controlled the nitrouse, when the traction control came on it turned the nitrous off then when the wheels caught it would reactivate the bottle. I would hate to have the bottle on, and forget to take the traction contol off and blow the motor. I would think that is what would happen right ????

nice pics, clean install, and I think I will be doing this myself then paying for a dyno tune for motor and gas.

Laptrax is what your looking for. When you arm the n2o laptrax will automaticaly turn traction control off and go to comp mode (leaving active handling enabled which will save your azz if you start to get side ways).

Ya what he said and how hard is it to install, I think that on a vette this would be common place to have this. I guess not, not to many people seem to add it to there list when doing a vette. I sure would hate to accidently forget to turn the traction control off and boom there goes the motor. That is what I would think would happen, correct me if I am wrong

and were do you get one ???

I had trouble running Laptrax with my nitrous. The Laptrax senses a voltage drop then puts the car in Comp Hand or TC off. This works fine when sensing the voltage drop when you start up the car. However whenever I hit the nitrous and the solenoids energizes, the Laptrax would see enough voltage drop that it would reset. I tried different points and tie-ins and could never get it to work reliably. Ended up selling it. I could not risk hitting the nitrous and the Laptrac turning TC back on. Now I just turn it off manually. Before running nitrous you should really go through a quick checklist anyway: fuel pressure, nitrous pressure, TC off, AC off, etc.

Here is the Laptrax sight, decide for your self if it's what your looking for. Seems if the n2o is some how effecting the volt reading to traction control something is wired wrong. To me it's like the clb on vettes that send a volt reading to keep column unlocked, never heard of other items effecting this?

Also, check out this site at bottom of page standard C5 doing 11.98 on n2o/propane with traction control on and runflats.
Traction Control on 11.98

I guess you can get away with this set-up because of the propane kicker.

Or just turn on "Comp mode" or turn traction control off when you get in the car

but what happens that one time your not in "COMP MODE" and your traction control hits ???

There is room for error on this, and I don't want to blow the motor on forgetting to flip the traction control off.

Nobody makes a unit thats checks to see if your in comp mode or not when u turn on your nitrous. You have to just make sure u u select it, just like manaul drivers make sure the car is in N when they let the cluth out after they start it. Make a habit.

Your right, it actually goes to comp mode (if that is where you've set it) when you start car, but it seems someone had it set-up to be triggered by n2o activation? Myself I like this, as my N2O system is allready set-up to come on line when ignition is turned on: armed, heater, remote opened and purge hot, Allways Ready. Except for trying to get into comp mode as Mr. Ricer is leaving me in his dust. I plan on getting one then I'll for sure not have to wonder is this or that on and or ready. On demand is my goal.
