Hello all i just purchased my 2001 SS, and i am thinking about getting a used nitrous kit for it. I have been eyeballing the TNT kits, and am awaiting a good deal to jump on it.
If i get the kit what all is necessary to install, this is what i plan to rack up before i install.(there are questions as i go)
Ok i Want the TNT kit with the "power ring" from the research that i have doen on this site the TNT kits seem to make great power with this system. are there any downside to using this system? any reason that i atypical nitrous system may be better?
How does a typical wet kit system plumb into the vehicle? where does the fuel, and Nitrous get injected at?
I also want the WOT switch however the TPS activated switch is what i think that i am looking at, something that works electonically and should be pretty failsafe as long as TPS voltage is correct, correct? Is teh tgraditional WOT seitch just a little switch type device that mounts onto the gas pedal, or...what?
fpss, this is obvious but safe is good.
window switch, this is also obvious, but i also feel that it is necessary.
Purge will also be a part of this system.
Now for the bottle heater, what exactly does this do? it heats up the bottle in order to attain a pressure inside of the bottle in order to deliver teh nitrous more effeciantly(from my understanding) not really a safety option, but more of a performance guarantee, am i right about this?
IT will probobly be around a 100 shot not looking for a 125 shot right now.
The stock 01 should be able to handle this correct, along with smaller gapped TR6's. And possibly in the future a new fuel pump, i dont want to get one, (not cheap, just not looking into getting real deep into mods like that this early..)
Please help me out. also looking at the NX kit but am curious how it compares in power output, as well as teh installation factor of it. If i get an NX kit and i want the power ring that can be added to the NX kit right.
Thanks guys i appreciate it.

Min. Part req'd: Bottle w/ valve assembly, main feed line -4 or -6 typically, Nitrous Solenoid, line to nozzle and nitrous jet, From the fuel rail test port, remove the schrader valve (relieve pressure first and cover with a rag) install fuel line to Fuel Solenoid and line from FS to Nozzle and fuel jet. Wire a 40a or similar relay to both Noids, 12+/ GRD/ and WOT Switch (which gets wired to a manual switch you mount interior). Thats the meats n potato version on baisic parts, and mounting.
Sorry if this is all cluttered, I am not the most patient person when replying to longer posts
Havent heard anything bad about the Ring setup from TNT, I prefer NX and the MAF kit, basically its as much brand loyalty as anything else.
The WOT can be mounted to the pedal, however its easy to install at the TB and allows from esier adjustment also very Reliable! I'd be more worried about the electronics in a TPS switch, thats just me.
Yes both the FPSS and WS are safety/convenience devices, I run neither, my level of acceptable risk is obviously higher.
Correctamundo on the bottle heater. Basics out are the heater pad, sold by everyone and their brother, some pressure transducer automatic and some all manual (dont recommend a non-auto type unless you are aware of the risk of leaving it on all the time = explosion of bottle makes a mess!). There is the heated bracket from 860, getting excelelnt reviews from what I have seen. And there is some other companies making Hotboxes (mostly for more dedicated Drag racers) and blankets and probably another list of brothers somewhere.
As far as poweroutput, all TNT users will jump in and let you know TNT is more than advertised, and NX is at or just under advertised (leaning more towards safer side). Yes you can hook NX to a ring, but you would be better off IMHO to go with the NX MAF kit.
100 shot on stock "should" be good. Everyone car is different. If you could pull some timing would be safer.
Hope it helps.

The TNT kit is an excellent kit. I have a TNT kit and a NX kit and love them both. I am currently selling my TNT kit with the power ring, Also have the Window Switch with 3000 and 6000 pills, Electronic TPS switch, and Purge. I dont use the FPSS switch, some people swear by it but I dont personally use it. If you are interested let me know we can work something out. I was looking for 650 plus shipping.
I dont know who you are getting the kit from if you even do but if it was me and I was buying a used kit unless I personally knew who had the kit before and you were 100% sure it worked perfect I would get solenoid rebuild kits or send the noids to TNT or NX(whatever brand)! Im pretty sure since you bought a 2001 SS that you probably want to take care of the motor! Thats just me and I have seen it happen to a guy who had a 03 SS Silverado with like 20k on it and he bought some used kit and the n20 noid stuck open and you know what happened next! Just a thought! Good luck and this is defintly the right spot to get some good info!

Hey guys thanks for all of the help i appreciate it all, 'If anyone can shoot or send me a pic of their WOT switch mounted at the TB that would be great.
Tigerfan i understand excatly what you mean, and i always planned on sending out the selenoids in order to ensure they were working properly, especially the fuel noid!
I am also going to take a look at the NX maf kit now, thanks.
Once again thanks for the input guys i appreciate it.

The Maf Kit is definately a nice kit. You cant go wrong with it. You cant beat a used kit in my opinion though, get a used kit for about 60% of the retail and then send the solenoids in for reassurance. Good luck to you in your journey I hope it works out well for you.

ok well i bought a tnt wet kit, is there any where that i can get a jet chart for this kit, i just want to double check everything. i see the little numbers that are on the jets i take it that this is what i go by.
alos the kit i bought came with two bottles, however on one of them the black plastic turn **** is a cracked a little, still works good but was wondering if it can be fixed.
Lemme know, Thanks gusy i appreciate it again. also dave i will be talking to you about quite a few nitrous goodies being that my kit is real bare bones and i will NOT put it on my new(to me)car like this. i figure i will buy everythign that i want by around spring time, not real interested in spraying in the 20 degree weather.
