Spark Plug
Spark Plug As I'm reading through some threads someone had a web site that showed how to side gap the spark plugs.http://performanceunlimited.com/docu...degapping.html is the site.My question is now that you have better spark do you keep the stock gap or stay with the .032-.035 range still that we all run with nitrious powered cars.On the site it says take away .010 from the gap but Im not to sure of which one to take it away from .032-.035 range or the stock settings .I went out and got 16 tr6 plugs to try this method and want to get it right.And if theres a problem I have a set to fall back on since I bought 16 of them
I think it would be best to take away from .035. Stock is like .060 right? At .050 I think that you would deffinatly be blowing the spark out even with the extra spark your getting. If it where me I'd start at about .030. I've always been curious about this method. Let us know what kind of results you get.
. Alright man I couldnt resist.I pulled the old plugs and was I in need of some new ones(the gap on the old ones was around .065 since the electrode was eat'n away). I followed instructions that was given on the site and gapped them to .035 at a 45 degree angle like the instruction said.After all that and the plugs were in it fired up the same as it normally did.After a short cruise or should I say blast the car seems to run smoother.This might be in my head cause I did some trick.But anyway's it seems to be smoother to me ,this might be because of the old oil filled fuc--d up plugs.Hope it works with nitrious.I'll let everybody know something after saturday when I try both ways.
