The EGR question is a good one.... I'd be intrested in that too, as I have an 01 ( No EGR ) A plug that would screw in for that with an o-ring for a good seal, or something like that would be nice.. or a version w/out that hole drilled would be even better.

I do have another question, this intake is going to be made from alum... not that it really matters, but what is the weight difference between this and say the factory ls6 intake? Also, is there any need for concern that this intake will heat soak on a street application, and cause any losses over a factory style composite intake? I'm intrested to hear the thoughts on this...

The hp gains were over a LS6 intake. Have not compared to an LSX.

Ok as far as the egr goes, it will be left filled in. If you want EGR then the customer will have to drill the hole and install. That picture was from our show intake.

The intake is aluminum, and it will weigh more than the compostie intake. How much not sure ever time we pour we find areas to save some weight. I know we are lighter then that other aluminum ls1 intake out there. We also have install the oring hole around the port so no need for gaskets.
The bottom of this intake is removable, so porting to all plenium areas can happen.

Now to the heat soak. Heat soak will not be a problem in a full throttle arena. Driving in stop and go traffic in Texas in the summer there will be a small amount but as soon as you hit the trottle its gone. We allowed the intake to get to maximum hot, so hot you could not put your hand on it, and that is were we took our numbers. Allowed the intake to be completely cooled and dynoed again, the same numbers, so heat soak will not be a issue. You have to remember the speed at which the air is moving throu the intake at wot, there just is not enough time to get the air hot enough to change any thing. The compostie intakes out there are good at keeping them selves cool to the touch, but the air inside I bet is the same temperature aluminum or compostie.

Sounds good. I'll buy in on the heatsoak theory, sounds solid to me. I like the fact that the bottom is removable for porting, as I will want to have the intake port matched to the AFR heads that I will be going with for sure. Please keep us up to date as to the availability and pricing of a intake/TB package, as I figure that will be how most people will probably want to order the intake.

Sounds great, keep up the good work!
