Default Remote Opener is stuck on???

So, when the shop hooked up my nitrou kit, they used pipe thread compound to attach the remote opener to the bottle and the nitrous filter to the opener. I want to clean up the looks of the bottle and move the filter down the line a little ways where it will be hidden, but I can't get it off. Is there anything I can use that will help break up the pipe compound?
