Default Nitrous newbie: Need lots of wiring help

I'm not going to lie, I'll be completely honest, I'm a complete newbie to this nitrous wiring stuff. I've done wiring before..I've wired up shift lights, tachs, messed with headlight and other wiring, etc. But all this nitrous wiring right now is over my head, so I'm looking for a little help.

It's going to be a NOS 5177 kit. I'll have a NX remote bottle opener, NX bottle heater, NX bottle pressure gauge, blowdown tube, FPSS, WOT switch(hidden one on the gas pedal), digital window switch, and purge. Most of it has already been ordered, some of it is already here, I'm just trying to figure it all out.

I already made a switch panel. It has four parts: heater, remote opener, arm, and purge. They're all toggle switches with the exception of purge, which is just a push-button.

I want to run relays. I bought four relays, figuring I'd run one for each switch. The switches all read 12v 30a. When I was just messing around with the wiring trying to figure it all out, I hooked one of the switches up to the 12v TCS power line(comes on when the car turns on, its what I use for my shift light power), and it immediately blew the fuse for the gauges. Duh - its 10amp, and the switch is 30amp. From that, I decided I would need to run relays. The relays have me confused though..on the NX bottle heater wiring diagram from their website, it has the switch run a power line to the NX heater transducer, then the relay also runs a power line to the transducer..and I planned on having the relays up near the switch panel, so that would be 10-15 feet of wiring just for the power for the transducer? It seems excessive and I thought there would be an easier way.

I drew a crappy drawing of what I have right now. It's a switch panel with 4 switches, 4 relays near it, and a whole lot of different jumbled parts that I have to figure out the wiring for. Anyone that could help me piece this together a little bit I would be very very grateful. I'm not even sure about the relays - does the purge need a relay? No idea. I don't know if 4 relays is too little or too much. Basically all I know at this point is that just about every piece in the picture needs to have a ground, and that the switches have to run to relays, and the relays have to run to the different elements(heater, opener, solenoids, etc).

Every little bit of help will be good, thanks in advance.

Think of your heater/transducer, remote opener, purge and pressure gauge as seperate wiring schemes, except you can use the same ingnition switched 12v source for your toggle sws.

Up in the stickies is a wiring diagram for the 5177 using a MSD ws, it should cover the main system. If you need help on where to put your 1st lock in this set-up let me know.

What the relays do is minimize the run (lenght) of your heavy amp load wires that power each device. The ing sw 12v source to the the relays, that trigger a contact inside for your high amp wire to make contact with item being powered, is much, much less than 1amp. If using different brand relays (5177 uses HELLA) you'll have to keep track of the number on each terminal. If you want numbers and what wire goes to it I can give that also.

Hope this makes sense, and helps you get started. You can ask on this thread or pm me if you want. Ther are also other guys on this site that are very knowledgable concerning wiring, that will also be glad to help.
Robert

I agree with Robert about thinking of everything as a seperate diagram. I don't know the wiring on the system, but I can go by the one up in the stickies and get you a complete diagram of the system and accessories if you would like. I'm sure Robert and some others on here can do the same, just let us know if you want the diagram.

I updated the picture with some things I've guessed are right. I still need help with the purge and some other items. Any takers?
