Are we talking about the the whole car (ie fuel system too). Or just the motor itself? A completly stock car can only handle about a 125 dry and up to a 150 wet (that's really pushing it) do to stock fuel system limitations. As far as how much a stock LS1 long block can handle, there are more than a handleful of us pushing over a 200 shot. No exactly a safe and solid set up that's going to last though.

Default oh?

thats crazy, because i went to byron and saw one w/ a 225 shot and i was suprised. I would never use nitrous because it destroys the stock internals.

I've been hitting mine hard for 4 years now, atleast 15lbs a week for the first 3 years and not so much this season (haven't really had time to run the car this year). I have yet to break anything on the car. Probrably tear the motor apart this winter though.

a friend of mine ran an unjetted 150 shot through his stock ls1 (except muffler) at least 50 times. we estimated close to a 300 shot because of how well it kept up with some bikes with known ET/trap speeds around here. i took one ride, never again. dry..

Alittle more info on this set up and what kit was it? I really don't think that car would still be running if it was anything close to a 300 shot.

?? i know very little about nitrous, but i do know that the car kept up with a bike that traps 125 mph. he had a 15 lb bottle on a direct-wired switch. in 3rd gear @ 2k if he floored it and hit the bottle it would immediately see RL with tirespin, no clutch slippage, only slippage occured when he MISSED the 3-4 and 4-5 shifts - engaging the clutch @ wot while spraying. i've never been in a car that pulled like that. car is a 99 z 28 hardtop. somewhat of a freak to begin with...ran 13.6 @ 107 BONE STOCK, paper filter, everything stock. had 85k on it at the time of ls1 rapage with bottle. has 95k on it now and he is replacing the tranny, the motor itself has no issues. no smoke at start-up or noises, it's amazing.

my 00 formula has a bone stock motor from TB to CATS. and stock fuel system as well. i run a 200 (rated at motor) wet shot. last dyno showed a little over 150 rwhp gain. shwoed 11:1 a/f ratio across the board.

i will personaly vouch for this one, its crazy, he just forgot to put in the jets, and experienced it and decided not to jet it. he would go through his bottle in one night, easy... said he got 2-4 sprays out of it..

This is the wrong forum to state that you would ever run nitrous because it destroys the stock internals.....LOL There are to many people here that have been spraying for YEARS that can prove other wise.Nitrous is not what destroys stock internals.User erra, lack of knowledge and over extending the limits of your set up is what ruins motors.Nitrous is really no harder on a motor than any other motor mod when used correctly.
