Correct me if I'm wrong but I read somewhere that the bottom end of a stock LS1 can handle up to somewhere close to 900HP & the internals are only good up to about 500HP before you start breakin rods. Also heard the stock ignition system can handle HP applications up to 1000HP before you need to upgrade. Again this is just what I have read, possibly is not true.

the crank can handle quite a bit of power but once you start getting into the upper 500's then the pistons and rods begin to break

The rod bolts are generally the weak link. I think one shop tested them to be somewhat reliable to about 710-720 at the crank. I should be hitting the dyno before the end of the year, I imagine the numbers will be just shy of 600rwhp.

No confirmed #'s on a TNT F1 on top of NA #'s in sig, but thinking somewhere close to 600/600 on a 150 hit....

A local in Tampa made 680 rwhp on the stock bottom end on RevXtremes dyno with a dual stage dry/wet with some good tuning. This particular bottom end was run at well over 550 rwhp most of its life. It finally died while racing high speed runs with Supras while spraying into 5th gear at 160+ mph. Even then it only melted a plug and an exhaust valve. The bottom end was intact.

The car was JuicedSS262s car. Nitrous basics were designed by myself and the RX guys and tuned by Jeremy Formato.

This same car now has a 408 with a setup we did...its making 868 rwhp currently.

here is the link to the original post of it making 664 rwhp.
