Default Another Dry Hit, Hits Pretty Good

First off, this is an absolutly bone stock LS6 longBlock, not even LT only a CAI as only "Bolt On", and self tuning. I haven't been really pushing to hard with spraying this season, as n/a stock I was into the 11.7x's quite a few times, and a couple half track small sprays had put me into the 11.6x range. Well, I made a goal to get the boot off the track before the end of season (no roll-bar for under 11.50 runs). So I turned on both stages, I think it's in the 130/150hp range (changed it so many times) and decide I would do a harder pass. Results, even with hitting rev limiter in third was:
1.531 60'
4.547 330
7.064 1/8 et
100.62 1/8 mph
9.237 1000'
11.042 1/4 ET
126.18 1/4 mph
I believe, if I wouldn't have hit the limiter, I would have had a 10.xx. What do you guys think? Oh, and this was with the NOS 5177, for those that didn't know.
I didn't get the boot, just a warning (even from track owner), then I ran a: 11.507, with first stage only, taking it easy. I got some looks from the track guys, but what could they say until I hit 11.499. I will have a roll bar for next season, and have one more track to do an all out this year.

Yep, you guys know how the rpms climb faster spraying, and really fast in a Z06, concerning the lower 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears compared to a regular 6-speed.

Nice!

Have you done a WB dyno on that 150 dry shot? Lean?

Do you think my C6 can handle more than a 125 shot?

Man, so close. I can't believe you only got a warning. That is some cool people running that track. I got booted last year for running an 11.90 with no roll bar. The track official said "Nice run but you are done until you get the roll bar." Awesome timeslip.

You know they changed the cut off to quicker than 11.50 for a roll bar, this year.

FLC6, actually I am running it a little rich. I have it set-up to peak highest ratio at torque peak, then start leaning out a tad through rest of rpm band. Probably will lean in out next year once I get to my limits with this tune.

Oh,

I didn't know you had a tune. I am still running my stock tune on my C6.

If I tune my car for the N20 will my car be slower on just motor? I have the NOS dry kit too.

Really no need for a re-tune, unless you plan on a big shot. Even then, it will not hurt your n/a tune, one of the many pluses of dry. I ran 11.71 on my n2o tune so it did not hurt n/a performance. Mostly mu tunr had to do with getting Vararam inline, and at that time I set-up up full custom fuel tune. tweaked many other things while there also.

11.71 is best n/a in my sig.
I will have to look at the jets again, but I believe it to be in the 135/150rwhp range. Al, with my trap speed and knowing I hit rev limiter in third, would you say 10's are a reality? I really believe I should have been there? I have used much bigger shots, but not full blasts at the strip, till next year, with a bar.

I would think if your not 10's, the you'd run a CAT3 time of 11.001 try that not once, but 3 times in one night! Nice runs Rob, hit the other track set to kill and enjoy while you can...10's are yours!
*Mods must get special pixie dust for traction or soemthing *

Charlie, 11.001 three times in a row, now that's gotta be frustrating. We are both right there, 10's are justing waiting for us to walk on over.

Robert if you could just get your 60' down to a 1.50 flat you would be there. Maybe start with another 50 psi in the bottle as well. You are right there...good work man!!

What tires??

I have stepped down since trying to covert the shark nozzle, waiting to pick up that lid w/ 5177 and second stage already in it. Once thats here, I might get off my ***, finish tuning my own car, install the Harlan 2 Step, and Fuel Pump Hot-wire kit! Not to mention the tubukar K Member, A Arms and oh yeah forged shortblock! But til then I am watching you progress, get em!
