Default 125 shot on 5177 dry kit??

is it safe on a stock engine, if so, what jets, I have 032 in there now, I think, they are the biggest ones that came with the kit and are supposed to be 100 shot.

Thanks

Yes, I was spraying a 125 shot on my stock motor, the only thing I changed was the spark plugs, went to NGK TR6s. The jet size for a 125 shot on the 5177 kit should be 036.

You might want to threw a pump and some injectors in there, just to be on the safe side,125 dry on a stock system is pushing it IMO.

With dual .036s, I ran a 1.56 11.410 @ 121.96. The.036s are a 115hp at the crank as per NOS, but is 97.75 at rear wheels considering the 15% drivetrain lose. You shouldn't need the 100 octane, imo, I was using 92 and no KR.

When I called NOS about the jet sizes the tech I talked to said the .036s on the 5177 kit were 125hp, I checked there web site but all they list for the 5177 kit are the .028, .030, and the .032 sizes, could you please post where you got your info from?. THANKS.

Its just using numbers, you can figure it out by using a formula. Do a search on Robert56 he has posted it before.

I must state, the guys teching for NOS are not the brightest stars in the sky, if ya know what I mean. I figured out the math from known values directly from NOS. Also, remember they rate at the crank, not rear wheels like other kits. They rate way conservative right from the get go.

Here ya go:
Dual .028 = 75hp - 15% = 63.75rwhp
dual .030 = 85hp - 15% = 72.25rwhp
dual .033 = 100hp - 15% = 85rwhp (mine came with one .032/.034)
dual .038 = 125hp - 15% = 106.25rwhp
So with these known NOS numbers we can see that every .001 jet size increase equals 2.5hp at the crank, .002=5hp and so on. Now we can do the math and get a close baseline rear wheel hp shot that we want. Every engine/car set-up is different, so the only way to get an absolute 100rwhp would be to jet it on a dyno. Hope this helps. In the beginning NOS did include the .038 jets, but...

I am runnning the 125 shot with TR6s, stock pump and injectors with zero problems. Just had it on the dyno last week, all is well. Gave me an increase of 101.2rwhp and 155.14rwtq

A single .042 is 75rwhp hit. NOS dual .028's = 75crank hp - 15% = 63.75rwhp.

There is backwards math to go from single jet size to dual jet size, or change duals to single. The math uses .71 as the common denom in each equation.

Charlie,
come on grow a sack
I told ya run the dual .044 or .046
and the single use the .063
Spray the dual off of the WOT switch and leave the single as the second stagehitting around 5500. Run the bottle pressure up around 1200 -1300psi and
The answer to your question though is to use the NOS single nozzle chart for the single then use the double chart just like they are 2 completly seperate kits then add them together.
