Default Spray through shifts

I'm begging to think I'm the only one. Is anyone else spraying through the shifts? I am using a Built trans.

Spraying through on a fully built tranny is pretty much standard procedure, they can handle it. The only reason most of us don't spray through is to help prolong the life of the stock tranny. Some people disagree with this but, I tend to think that it works.

Why not use a simple rpm window switch and remove some stress from your expensive tranny? Spraying through shifts won't make you any quicker, and it might make you poorer...

I just use an MSD window switch with an upper rpm module that is 100rpm lower than my shift point.

i dont do it. my car runs pretty solid. i have a built 4L60e and feel it cant be classified in the same category as a built th350 or th400.

has anyone seen a gain from spraying b/w the shifts versus stoping the spray like me at 200 rpms before the shift?

this is a very common question, but i have always sprayed right through the shifts. Completely stock trans. the only thing i did do was programmed quicker and harder shifts. This has worked for the past 3 years. It is not my daily driver so it doesnt get much stress during the week which helps out.

I have been spraying a 150 shot through the shifts for quit some time now. Prolly like 40-50 bottles of nitorus before I had to rebuild my tranny. Not too bad

Lets see how long it last running in the 10's

I'v been spraying through my shifts as well. From what I know it just adds a little extra stress to the tranny but if its built to handle it why not.

I am stepping up from a 100 shot out of the hole to a progressive 175 over the winter. My trans is "built" but i know it is not built to the moon like some. Now my main question is: Will setting a window switch to turn off before the shift then kick back in after be a bad idea with

I don't want to be losing traction when it comes back in or jolting anything.

It has also been stated that you don't gain anything spraying through the shifts but I see it as a delay, nitrous has to turn off then back on while the trans shifts pretty dang quick. Do you guys that use a window switch and shut it down even notice it?

I spray through the shifts, but i'm also running a th400, so it's a totally diff ballgame, I personally wouldn't do it on a 4l60, those things are weak!

Stock trans lasted 36K miles of spraying 100-175, don't even know how many bottles.

No trans is going to last forever

Spray it, think about it whats the difference if you have 450 HP N/A or 450 HP with nitrous?
