If you really want to run 8's or even 7's, why not go the BBC route?
I know you have a hard-on for LS1's, but if you want to go that fast, its a lot easier/ cheaper to go BBC.

Alittle more weight reduction
Alittle more cam
Alittle more head
Alittle more N20

U have a chance at going 8's
I'd try it with the 346
Good luck

a little more head reinforcement and some more juice, at least get low 9's out of that combo. After that go for a stroker iron or dart block

I vote for the current set-up, and if that doesn't do/hold together i'd go go the 427 route. Man we need some of you guys in the eights, for sure.

Married life and kids put the damper on racing and play money for a very long time in my case. But still doable if your frugal. Good luck with getting married, it does have benifits.

I went 346. 427 I dont think will get along to well with the added Nitrous, not optimal on the bore/stroke and whatever the claims of oiling issues etc..besides it sounds way easier. So next would be a 408ci Alum Ls1, which I plan on doing sometime later, just using smaller sleeves than the large Darton 4.110"ers.
I would love to run in the 8's, but I see myself stopping (or having a long pause) at the 9's if I can ever get my **** together and pass the 10's...ET Perf. heads ordering time is approaching, then we'll see.

Good luck and keep us posted of course.
