Default Mounting nitrous bottle sideways??

If I mount the bottle in the bottom of the "well" (top of bottle pointing towards the passenger side), do i need to point the bottle outlet towards the front of the car to enable the siphon tube to pickup at the bottom?

If anything, I think you'd want to point the outlet towards the rear of the car as the nitrous will be pushed rearward during hard acceleration.

You want to have the bottle set up so the siphon tube in it can pick up th nitrous when you accelerate.

Y2k....

That I know, but if I mount the bottle sideways, I am not sure which way to have the outlet pointing.

I have my bottle sideways, valve up, and works fine...the syphon tube need to be down and i even rotate the bottle a little to get max pu considering acceleration. FWIW I am repositioning the bottle to a position parallel with acceleration. (Assuming I am going in a straight line).

You can/should rotate your siphon tube towards the back of the car. You can do this internaly or you can do by rotating the entire bottle.

Thanks for the replies...I found this with more digging and it seems to be a good explanation:

Ok the side ways mounting. The valve is on the passenger side of the car and the bottom of the bottle is on the drivers side. ( the bottom of the bottle is the large flat area).
Now you are standing on the passenger side of the car, looking at the top of the handwheel. The bottle valves outlet or bottle nipple is aimed slightly to the rear of the car. 7 o clock. If you were looking from the drivers side it would be 5 o'clock.
The main thing here is to think what happens to the liquid nitrous on launch, how does it move in the bottle. The opening to the dip tube all ways needs to be in liquid for best performance. And since liquid will try to go backwards that is were you will want the dip tube.

That's what I said (in one sentence).

yep, no problem with mounting sideways. On most bottles, the syphon tube is pointed to the same spot where the main valve is pointed.
