What do you do about the blowdown tube if you mount it on the tunnel? Just drill a hole?

IIRC when I pulled hte rear seats there's holes in the chasis where the seatbelt bolts attach, I wonder if you could maneuver the tube to fit through there?

You can drill a new hole for the blow down tube or use -8 fittings and braided hoe to build your own Blow down tube and run it anywhere you need it.

The question is do you want your bottle to be seen or not? IF you want it hidden then the wheel well works great and you can fit a big bottle in there as well. Its really easy to mount, all you need is a peice of plywood and an L bracket. You attach the bracket to the ply wood and spare tire holder and its done. Takes 5 minutes. Bottle is hidden and ready to go with no questions from the law, all your backseat space is avaliable for what ever., and you've vented the blowoff properly. If your only running the bottle at the track then having it hidden won't matter, but you'll still need to route the blow-off. I use a bulkhead.

The question is. Do you want to invest in a remote bottle opener and nitrous pressure gauge. OUCH

We're talking about $230 delivered. I wouldn't exactly call that an investment. The pressure guage comes with the blowoff valve or at least mine did. Its a personal choice the way I see it. Some people actualy want you to see thier bottle, some people only use it at the track so it doesnt matter, some people only use it on special occasions. I preffer the stealth mode. No one knows its there and its ready to use when ever I want with the flip of a switch. No way is the wrong way as long as your happy with it.

99blancoSS is correct... Be happy.

You always need a to do the blowoff and vent tube even if the bottle is in the tire well. It is still considered the passenger compartment, and alot of tracks can be sticklers onthat one...
Bulk head is the only way to do a blow correctly.

Just a note to all regarding bottle placement:

If you put it in your t-top comp't., the standard 14 ft. nitrous mainline will NOT reach the noids. Order the 18 footer.

I learned this the hard way

BTW, Nitro Dave bent over backwards to help me......as always

That is the first place someone looks. you have to get a 5 lb bottle and put it in your dash. no one will look in there

You can look all day long and you still cant see a thing in my car. There is no way you can detect my setup without opening the hood. Having your car strip searched is a different story.

If you run hoods shut, then people know you are spraying.

Just been reading the thread, and in the nick of time. I have just purchased my first Nitrous kit and I am about to mount my bottle sometimes this week. I was going on the back hump behind the rear seats, but never thought about the fuel tank one time. Now I will mount it on the driveshaft hump for sure. Thanks for being on time. THIS IS HOW FATE HAPPENS.

I mounted mine on the back of the hatch area where I can still put my T-Tops in it. Only thing I need to do is move the bottom bracket down a little to get a better angle on it.

Just drilled a hole on the Passenger side to vent the blow down tube through.

your valve should be facing the nose of the car also... so when you launch the liquid is put in the bottom of your bottle and not the side
