Eh, my kit isn't "hidden" but it's dumbed down. All the braided lines and wiring is inside looms. I pulled all the stickers off the noids. I just wanted the engine to look as close to stock as possible. I have the noids mounted where the EGR goes and many people overlook my nitrous system.

There are many other reasons to appreciate my car, instead of "hey he's got nawwwwwsssss" My neon lights make it a ricer's wet dream, don't need them blowin their load when they see the 15lb bottle, etc.

I didn't buy Nitro daves Halo kit to be stealthy. I have a clear lid, so there is no hiding it with that thing.

No police problems here.

My system is hidden simply because it makes for a much cleaner look under the hood.

No offense to other people's hard work, but I "hid" mine under the fuse boxes because I saw all the installation pics here and on LS1.com. I didn't like what I saw and I didn't want (what I consider) a sloppy installation. If you looked you'd see the nozzle and lines running to my bellow, so it's not like I can lie about having it. After I get Dave's fusebox-side fuel cell I'm going to have to relocate the 'noids by the air pump.

So, why did I hide? Because it keeps everything looking cleaner!

I had a power ring nx setup and I got hassled all the time by street racers saying it was a two stage. The stealthier the better to avoid all the stupid questions people ask about nitrous. I have a loud *** car too, so hiding my nitrous lines would have been a waste. I got beat by a guy at a street race that ended up having a hidden 2 lb bottle. The only reason I suspected nitrous was because of how hard he pulled me in 4th gear. They had it on a push botton activation so they used just enough to win races. It worked for a little over a month before it was discovered.

To make the cleanest install possible. The absolute ONLY visible sign ANYWHERE in the car that I have nitrous (without pulling the fender off) is to look in the trunk to see the bottle.

They main reason for hiding nitrous around here is for when it comes down to street racing.I have mine hidden only b/c of street races. I have had hidden kits used on me b4 but not no more.lol

[QUOTE=XTrooper]No police problems here.

X: I assume it will vary from one jurisdiction to another but is it really illegal. If so I don't understand the justification. Why is a nitrous car making 400 hp illegal and it is legal to have a legal Z06 or a Viper making more power? How could they prove what effect it has on the car or that it even works?

Man, I guess I am the odd man out. I like having my stuff on display. Not yo many guys will mess with a Z06 and Nitrous. That's the main reason I mount my bottle under the rear window, so everyone can see it. I have people at the track asking/talking cars because of it and I enjoy this. Also, I like to put my work on display. Looking inside the car they will also see a LM1 wide band hanging off of the windshield, and my LapTop mounted to a police mount hanging over my center console. Not to mention Fuel and N2O pressure gauges on pillar, and custom switch panel in ash tray that remains open for purge access. Ricer intimidation, want some, come get some.

Now Robert you trying to scare a ricer away, like bluffing with a pair of twos..... Jus kidding, I really liked the "not yo many guys will mess with a zo6 and nitrous". I love vettes but damm man come on. How many times you get cracked by a camaro on the juice, or worse a ricer. lol.............
I am glad to see some people like showing off their work, because lets face it, when you do it, you should be proud of it...
Either for the world to see or self happiness.
Robert you get your MAF yet, I am having to reorder and do not want you to mis-out.

definately odd man out, I don't have ANY aftermarket gauges and nothing is visible. I don't like answering all the questions asked when people see the nitrous

So would be safe to say for most, that a visible kits biggest let down is all the hoses and crap goning all over the place?

Ricky, as I await my pieces from you, they will be shown front and center for all the world to see. Frankly, I'll be waiting to get a hold of the new solenoids when they are out just to beautify the intake area even more. Nitrous done correctly is a beautiful thing. I like a functional show car. So far it works for me. I don't just use loom, but I have little caps for the loom ends. I buff hard lines. Beyond that even steel braided line can rub metal like a rasp. Loops etc unless warranted by performance are ugly to me. Shiny mount plates on a black manifold get painted on my car. That's just me...that's also why I like experts like you fabing it and letting me install it!

Ricky, cracked by a ricer, not yet. Now F-bodys are another story a few times. The worst beating I took this summer was by a Kenne Bell Cobra. I knew I was going to hand this guy his lunch. However, my nitrous didn't work (wire came off arm sw), then banging 2nd gear I missed it, so he beat me with a 11.4x to a 12.xx, and I had been running very low elevens. This was a talked up race so I had to take a lot from both camps, oh well, no one wins them all. We'll have to do MAF negotations later, as I go in for neck surgery Friday morning. They are coming in the side of my neck and removing two vertbrae and replacing with plastic, then tying the whole row up with SS plates. I'll be out for?
Robert
