See even better, but to many people are just to affraid of nitrous and use the excuse of its cheating or my engine will not last. Thats just how they defend there slowness but i must hold my toung because there are alot of fast N/A people out there that i could never toutch.
LOl ok for starters when it comes to street racing there is no rules..& 2nd i think ppl think its unfair only cause u can slap on 150 Hp for only 600$ as to a Sc or Turbo would run u 3k+.I have learned ppl allways hate on what they dont have or Know nothing about.. in street racing. next time ur friend says it cheating when he gets his SC just tell him to TURN it off and ull Turn urs off.. LOL.. they both are a means to FORCE induction.. tell him that
ya know whats funny...everyone claims nitrous is soooo cheap but lets face it...ive spent allmost 1800 bucks on my system with all the safety gadgets to try to insure that my engine doesnt go caput...not to mention, the $50.00 a week fill up bill we indure, sometimes even more...whoever said nitrous was cheap?!?!??..sh*t...they be mistaken!!!
just b/c its cheap(er) than anything else, dont make it cheating. what a bunch of cry babies..lol

The only way I see it as cheating is if you say your not using it when you really are. If you are honest about it upfront, that you are using it and how much, then it's not cheating. If it were cheating, then anything you do to your engine to improve performance is cheating.
If this even matters, the only time that nitrous WAS cheating (IMHO) was in NASCAR. One team installed a small bottle in the roll cage and used it when "needed". That was cheating. They were busted or it might never had been known!
In a street race, anything goes. Why do you think they sell sneaky-pete systems. If you do street race and get burned, work on your negotiating skills! Don't call a nitrous user a cheater because they pulled one over on you. You should have asked to tech their car! Everyone is stock, just ask them; until you see the hose!!!!!

it's a never ending argument and it's ridiculous...it's relatively cheap, easy horsepower. that's why people get fussy about it, we're do thing the same thing the turbo/blower guys are doin, only we're doin it chemically instead of mechanically.......
Like AirWolf said, if you don't have it your negotiating skills better be killer. Me personally, I had it and still negotiated like hell with people, haha. You have to take what you can get IMO.
AirWolf - Another instance of it actually being cheating was a couple of years ago in the PSCA Pro Street class. You are allowed one power adder and there was a guy that was running a pro-mod type blown alcohol motor. Long story short, he hit the wall really hard with the tail end of the car which happen to rupture the fuel cell, funny thing was that there wasn't any fuel dripping on the ground. Track officials opened the cell up where it had cracked and found a nitrous bottle in a part of the cell that was sealed off from the fuel. Lines were hidden in cage and the direct port was underneath the intake manifold. I thought that was all pretty funny, especially since he had been using it for a while and noone could figure out why he had everyone covered by almost 1/2 a second, haha.
It's only cheating if there are preset rules AND you get caught.
