Default Avoiding N20 on 1st gear?

I was wondering the best way to NOT have nitrous for first gear, but have it for the rest. Im getting the MSD window switch, and the WOT in the Zex, but is there any way of avoiding nitrous in first gear?If I have my window at 3 or something like that, I dont want first having N20 because I will be dumping the clutch somewhere in there, and its way to short of a gear in my car yet. Is my only option a button?

Instead of geting the MSD window switch get the Trick windowswitch. It is a digital unit with any gear lock out, dual window switch, and TPs. So you can simply set it not to spray in first gear

Are there any unmentioned dangers of spraying the car in first gear?

if you want to do it a cheap way you can rig up a micro switch that turns off when in first and wire that in. Someone on here did that. that electronic piece would obviously be better though

No some people lock first gear out to help with traction issues.
Or if you have a stock rear end to take it easier on that.

lossing traction, or bogging the engine. But with window switch you are covered.

micro switch on the gear shifter wired in that opens the circuit thus keepin it off while in first..soon as you shift, micro-switch opens, closed the circuit, boom, instant juice. it will cost you about $20.00 to do.
there are hi tech ways of doin things as dave has stated so you do as your means allow. goodluck.

Thats assuming you manually shift the car. I leave mine in "D" when I race.

lol, yea, M6 here obviously....How much is that system Dave?I heard the MSD was king s*** for the window switches. How does that system work blocking first?

Is the other option ppl have been mentioning a "do it yourselfer", or is there somethign to buy?Im not familiar with that setup there. Is it safe?

They various window switches with first gear lockouts work the best in my opinion. The Trick Shift that Dave carries has the ability to lockout the nitrous system in any gear, so if need be you could lock out second gear too (just an option). Plus, it has the TPS built into it for the wide open throttle activation.

The other option that has been mentioned is a "do-it-yourself" project that is very simple to install. It just involves a micro switch and some wiring.

Hey im still new to the board, Anyway Puttin the car in Manual Low (1st), then shifting to second will actually be better for your tranny and the life of it. 4l60E's and what not have more line pressure and hold the clutches inside the transmission harder thus not slipping as easily and hittin the gear harder. By all means nothing you will notice just a little insider info.
just my 2cents.......im sure ill have people argue me

Here it is, homemade 1st gear lock out, total cost $3.00. You need to get a three terminal wot at radio smack. Then just wire it inline with your wot wiring, but opposite, thus 3-terminal. make sense? Works great and over 125 1/4 mile pulls. Oics from my web site:

and WOT sw at throttle pedal:

i thought about the one on the gas pedal (like yours) and also another at the clutch so you can have your foot on the floor before you launch

Looking at the controller of Daves, you could wire it up to delay the nitrous in first until you got to a hire rpm and then engage.. Really a nice piece from what I can read.
