Default 200 shot

this will mainly get answered by robert and 383 I think

on a SI car are you guys able to run a 200 shot on pump gas
or do you always use some kind of mix or octane booster.?

If on pump, what is the max timing you have been able to run?

thanks guys

are we talking 200 shot on/off kit or dual stage? Progressive?

And what mods does the stock internal motor have and what power? Compression? Cam?

Youll be walking a fine line there and based on the answers to the above you could either easily do it...or be beyond the realm of pump gas. So let us know.

well I meant it as a general question for everyone to discuss,
how about two different scenarios
CAR1...SI car stock CR all bolt ons stock pump(98 car so bigger pump) two stage on a window,
first stage on launch 75-100 second stage manually activated 125-100

CAR2.....same car but with a progressive two stage(same power levels)

If you do the 2 stage like you say, the motor will last all day long. a 200 shot strait out the box. youll get maybe a season

I see. I think if your a stock car with either a dual stage with 100 on at 3200 and the other 100 on at 4900..

Or a progressive with rpm...I think you could do it on pump gas with pulling a few degrees.
Roughly 475 to 500 rwhp total. Tq should be right around the same.

I think on a single on/off 200 rwhp shot the TQ would be alot....probably near 600 rwtq. Probably get some detoinatiom in the lower rpms. But you still may be able to get away with it if you pulled alot of timing from 3000 to 4500 or so. I think there have been a bunch of peaople that have sprayed 200 on a stock motor on pump. But IMO thats getting close to the limit.

You could certainly do it with just some 100 octane in the tank....or even half 100 octane.

PEWTER-z

The scenarios were to try and determine fuel requirements,
but thanks for the input I already have a progressive on the car

I have been blasting a stocker with a 200 dual stage, in many diff configs, but basically 1st 100hp at 3000, then 2nd 100 at 4100rpm. timing between 20/22 degrees and 92 octane. I do have a custom fuel curve at wot that gets richer at my torque peak then tapers a little leaner to redline. No problemos, but the ls6 can handle a bit more than a stock ls1, imo.

i have over a 200 shot on my car ...probbaly like a 230ish or so...... and ive had it on my car for a while and i spray it all day long and it runs great..... and its a 100% stock lt1 motor..... been fastest of 11.0 at 120 on a 200 shot...

when it was a 200 i was running pump gas while pulling 8 degrees of timing..... but in the winter i tried that and melted 2 plugs..... so now i mix it being its a tad bigger shot but i think once summer comes back around i should be good on pump gas again too.... i pull another degree and a half out now also....
