So again does anyone have an answer, can the timing be retarded when this controller is activated? Or is a timing tuner needed in addition the the fjo, to retard timing when the nitrous is activated?

I bet Tbryne would move some units if they put it on their site. They got the MAF kit, a few wet kits, GenX upgrades, Maximizer, and heater up, as well as TPS and a few other bits and pieces but nuthin on the FJO controller (at least in the C-5 Corvette section).

The unit can controll a timing tuner but itself does not remove the timing. the timing tuner does. Just a little wiring and your done.

id be instrested in this too.
i mena i have lt1 edit and im having a guy show me how to use it.
i thinki i ge tthe retard vs air flow which is what i wanna do but at the same time i dont wanna be driving at WOT all the time with 3-8 degrees retard.
and its also a PITA to carry the laptop around and keep changing n20 timing to N/a timing...

Do you happen to have a diagram?I would assume the timing tuner window switch function will not be used?

ok another question.

are you guys tuning these things on dynos?

i mean i know that ill porb just set it up to do a straight ramp(not straight but a straight angled from 25%-100%) for now ... and then when i go to a larger shot tune it on the dyno.. this will be on my 125 shot everything is tuned etc for now
is that ok?

thanks your friend

Here you go, and you could use either controls for the window, I would use the FJO since it also doing the progressive work.

Ricky, on a related note on the maximizer do you need to use a relay with the solenoid driver? I assume not because they have some serious guage wires and I am guessing that is what the solenoid driver does but just want to double check.

Thanks
Mike

You still need a relay for the hot side of things, the driver for the M2 is controlling the grounds.

It is the original maximizer, not the M2. Not sure if that makes a difference, Im not at the house so I cant see the wiring diagram but I dont remember the wiring diagram showing a relay....

What are the requirements on the laptop in order to run the program.

a usb port, haha. Seriously, the program is EXTREMELY simple, and if your laptop has a usb port, it's most likely got enough "power" to run the program without any hitches or glitches. In fact, if it's got windows 98 or newer, the laptop will probably run the program. ALSO, you can get cables that convert USB to the "pin" things, I don't know what they are called, so technically you might not even need a USB port.

REMEMBER, THE UNIT ITSELF IS ABOUT 4"x2", THAT IS ALL. You unplug the 2 harness's right on the unit, and you can bring the unit in to your home and change the programs on your desktop/home computer.

You BY NO MEANS "need" a laptop for this. It is EXTREMELY simple to remove from the car (literally two harness's right on the unit, just unplug them and take it where ever you please).

Thanks for the reply
We are going to install this unit on the track car so i thought it would be best to bring a laptop to the track to dial it in. I have my choice of several old laptops that by todays standards are too slow for the office but I thought they would be good for this.

Go to the folder where the FJO .exe program is and copy and paste the 2StageSX.ini file out of there. The .ini file is the configuration file. What I usually do is I take a screenshot of my configuration screen while in the FJO program and then save that and the corresponding .ini file I just copied from the FJO folder into my "FJO CONFIGURATIONS" folder. That way I get the configuration itself and also a graphic representation of what is on the .ini file too. You could also just open the .ini file with wordpad and view the settings in there if you wanted, but I like to look at the picture graph instead. Hope this helps.
