Default Guage wires?

i have been having a electrical problem lately do yall think that it could be i have 10 guage wire for fuses and 16guage wire for everything else, do you guys think that could be messing my system up?

what type of electrical problem have you been having?

do you have a digital multi meter?

10 gauge from the battery to the relay?

Sounds about right if thats the case. At least thats how mine's wired.

I see many people just using any wire they have handy. If you want to use the correct wire size you need to determine the voltage, amperage and the length of the wire. If you are borderline it never hurts to use bigger wire, but to oversive excessivly is not needed. Check out the chart on the following link and choosing the right wire size is very easy.

Many electrical problems are caused by bad connections (I solder every one to be sure) and under size wire that results in excessive voltage drop. I hope this helps.

It won't hurt anything but depending on the amperage and length it sounds like 10 ga. is overkill. 10 ga. will carry 50 amps 15ft!
