Default what wires are you using

i was wondering what kind of wires everyone runs for there kit. i have a crap load of speaker wire left over, but i was concered about it possibly melting. do you think i will be fine using it or should i get something different.

I personally wouldn't. Try using some automotive GXL and/or SXL hook up wire. Any auto parts store will have it.

defintley wire made for 12 volts systems...i used mostly 12 and 14 guage but that's what i had layin around the shop

also I would go with color wire just so you know what is going on and not just a bunch of clear wire everywhere.

yeah, right after i posted this i decided that it wasnt going to be a good idea to use those wires. so i bought some good ones from an auto parts store and finished wiring under the hood. it looks really good too!!!

That's not really true. Quality speaker wire is very pure copper with a very high strand count. This is actually the best wire to use for a low voltage system. Automotive type speaker wire usually has more than acceptable insulation around the wire as well.
I've used speaker wire many times in the past with no problems. Being in pairs makes it ideal for things like the N2O activation button.

Plain automotive wire has a much lower strand count and is often more brittle, but is perfectly acceptable.
Household wire is the lowest quality and out of the question for automotive use... though I've seen that done too.
