What happened...
This time it will spray out of the hole lol!!
The Icon car is running very well. Larry, Edgar's son just had another child, so they have been very busy with other things. The car will be back soon.
And Robert (MRI-Tek).. wont be a heavy hitter ...my ***.. LOL
Sorry to say Tony, but 8's from an LS1 is heavy. Quit being so modest.
And yes .....Im still a LT1 guy. Still the 396 plus some more tricks up my sleeve.
What kind of raceweight y'all sittin at now?
I haven't heard anything about the Icon folks after laying down that big number (without even running it out the back based on the mph). Did they hurt it bad?
Didn't hurt it at all on that pass. I actually wanted to run the Ohio Boy's again once the race was over but they wouldn't let me.
On the 8.57 pass, I started out at 800psi bottle pressure (not enough time to warm it up). By the time I got to about 900ft, the bottle was at around 700psi. With a 400hp single stage, This netted a nasty 9.0:1 AFR just after the 1/8 mile
It started banging out so I let out and thats why it only went 149mph. It did go 5.40 in the 1/8th though! We got the pressure back up for the final against Turley and leaned on the fuel pressure a bit. I launched and while on the wheelie bars my battery slid back and yanked out my main power cable and SLAM!! race was over. The car was on it's way to a 8.4x or better. Turley went 8.6x on that final pass and won it.I have been to the track once since that race and couldn't get the car to go straight ( 3 year old slicks!) I have some new tires and a couple of new suspension pieces to put on it and I am going to try to go this weekend. Just been really busy at the shop and the Cato's have also been busy.
