Default Problems !!!!

okay so i just installed a wet nitrous set-up on my friends mustang....

the nitrous works fine but the purge just shorts out everytime i try and connect the 12volt igntion to the wire to the noids, it just sparks i tried 3 different grounds, replaced the wire checked for voltage and everything..... but still no good, the switch works the wire is carrying the full 12 volts, so plz help thank you-

O yeah and this is a v6 mustang and tonight we ran it against an RSX type S with intake and exhaust. He has i/e w/ 75 shot and he could only manage a tie. BUT he doesnt have a bottle guage, a bottle warmer or a bottle blanket, it was cold out, so im gonna guess that the bottle PSI was like 500psi do you think that this would make a massive difference if the psi was 1000psi?

is the wire constantly hot? or only when you switch it on? is the circuit on a relay? the relay may be stuck "ON". bottle pressure is very important also.

no, no relay..... the wiring is

12volt to switch source
from switch to the solenoid, and ground solenoid to the chassis what could it be this is crap

Depending on the quality of the push button that you are using you could be over powering it and fusing the contacts together. I've seen this happen more often that you would think.

Use a relay or a better quality button to solve this.

Yeah, lot of switches are pretty low current capable and
also not able to take the arc on opening without pitting
up. I'd look at the voltage -directly- across the purge
solenoid while attempting to fire. Also may want to take
a coil resistance reading just to make sure you do not
have a defective (shorted) one - and check coil to body
as well, for short circuit possibly through the mounting
hardware and chassis?

I may be wrong here, but I would think a smaller shot of nitrous isn't as dependent upon bottle pressure as a larger shot due to less volume of nitrous being used.

Flow is square root of pressure-drop for an orifice. If it's 500PSI
vs 1000, he'd be down about 30% on "air" (at least the nitrous
increment) and also then overfueled. Consistency is why people
control bottle temp, more than just delivery; can't tune it well
when your airflow is all unpredictable and, in the wet shot case,
not measurable either.
