Ok, so here is how it works....The 1/4" ss dowel holds the tube in place, the mandrel with the silver finish is the one that the tube bends around while the one with the gold finish is the one that holds the tube tight against the bending mandrel. I am going to mark off the baseplate in degrees.

How does that work on multiple bends?

I bent a couple of lines last night and worked fine, 10x better than my NOS. One bend @ the bottom, one bend in the middle and one bend at the top.

I am going to add another 1/4" SS dowel to hold the tubing and allow it to bend in the opposite direction...

Thats cool, I was thinking of going with a direct port setup and would need something like that to bend the lines. I'm not a big fan of the braided lines.

I did the first kit with an NOS tubing bender and my fingers and thumbs HURT. You could not bend small lengths of SS with any precision. Maybe the SS I got had thick walls or something. With this bender I can bend SS with one finger very very quickly and with no effort.

Edited...

I do, try bending some 3/4" heavy wall tubing with a hand held (weighs 15/20lbs), and this can be a 10' piece with compound angles and many of them. The stuff is tough. Haven't found a hand held yet that'll handle 1" and use a hydraulic bench mount or fittings. kudos on your set-up.

yeah 3/4" is a bitch....Swagelok handhelds work absolutely awesome all the way up to 1/2" however. 1/4" is absolute cake.

Yea, we use Swagelok, Hylock and By-lock fittings on all our boats, all the way to 1 1/2".
