What will 150hp shot do to my MPH????

Default What will 150hp shot do to my MPH????

I'm trapping 119mph in the quarter and want to add 150hp shot to my car. I'm wondering what kind of MPH I can expect through the traps?

I'm running about 400rwhp right now, but I'm not sure since I haven't had it dyno'd.

On a 150 shot, I'd say add 11-14 MPH to your N/A trap. I gained 13 MPH on a 150 shot and I know others are in the same area..

Jon has a C5 coupe with a m6, heavy duty clutch and I think 4:10 gears. I answered for him cause he is stationed over seas and may not get back real soon to thread. he will clarify his ride better though.

Jon, 150 shot, what a wuss, as Rey (trueice) is asking about a 200shot and mucho mods before you get back. Maybe we will have also do a multi stage 200 hit for ya? Take care buddy.

What others have said is accurate... I was running 119 on motor with a 6 speed with a 355 LT1 with about 420RWHP...

I swapped out the T56 for a TH400 and dropped to 117mph but my et was better...

Put the 150 shot to it and it went 131..... with the t56 still in there i probably would have gone 133 so that's like 14 mph.... I'd say expect that he'll pick up 12-14mph if he's squeezing it out the hole and in every gear till the finish line...

I'm going to guess this 119 + 12 = 131 MPH.

It has a McCleod twin disc, DTE stage III rear differential w/ 3:90 gears, and a carbon fiber driveshaft.

Robert, we'll see what he actually does. I think Rey is a great dude so don't get me wrong when I say that I don't think he'll actually go through with the nitrous. He don't want a cage! If he does go through with the nitrous, he won't be able to spray much at the track......

And to be honest, I'd love to go with a 200 shot, but I'm scared my motor will blow since the internals aren't forged. I guess I could always put smaller jets in it.

So are you still gonna help me put my cage in when I get home?

I plan on getting a window switch and locking out first gear and spraying at WOT throught the rest of the gears (2,3,4).

No problem on the cage, and don't be afraid to spray outa the whole with your rearend. You've seen my launches,and that's stock, whereas, you have the full built rear. That's the best way to get your ET down, as you know, is to get a good 60'er.

trying to keep up Jon? My car is going on a little diet BTW not much maybe 150Lbs.....and a 200 shoot

So what do you guys think I will get taking my car from 3800 to 3650 and adding a 200 shot. Car is going 11.50s average now at 118 with a 1.60 short. I am running 3,800 TP yank with 3.73 gears. I will also be going from 26x10.5 ETs to 27x11.5 Hoosiers and front runners. I am going to spray a direct port with a 20 inch lead line out of the hole

Jon and I are looking for a heads up race

DanZ28 were you getting a 6/10th drop on a 150 shot or is that old motor juice new motor N/A?

I am hoping for more then 6/10th is why I am asking

Ellis, sub 10.5x's I'll bet, if ya can hook, and 130+mph area? Good enough for 3rd place.

As long as you can keep the pistons and rods INSIDE the engine you should make it Robert!

BTW How much were you shotting in the 7/10th drop? I had 8/10th with my 80hp tune. it dyno'd 60RWHP so It was on

I'm just trying to hit 10's. I have a long way to go before I get there. I have to practice my launches still and get the cage and nitrous hooked up.

If you want a highway run on the bottles.........I'm down for that! You have an automatic. Must be nice not having to shift. Wusss

If I can hit 10's before season's end. I'll be a happy camper!

Remember beyond a 150hp nitrous shot and the ring lands on the stock pistons don't last long. There are guys running tons of bottles with 150hp shots and smaller with lower timing and proper tune with no problems.

TwoFast4Lv- you better be thinking about a 12bolt rear if you plan to spray because you will need it.
