Default spraying 175 or 200 shot on LS1?

What would it take to spray a 175 or 200 shot on an LS1? I know I should get a new fuel pump to safely spray a 150 and I have been told the internals will hold a 150 fine, just curious if I could safely spray a 175 or 200 shot on a stock bottom end LS1...

thanks

Your deffinatly going to want a fuel pump, hotwire kit for the pump, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to relocate the fuel pressure regulator to the rails and then run a return to the tank (that would flatten out the initial lean spike). Running a 200 shot with stock internals is sort of a gamble, mine has been seeing more than that but the motor certainly isn't going to last for ever.

Like GM Muscle said beef up the fuel system. A single pump Racetronix fuel pump kit should work for you. Another option would be to run a stand alone fuel system, and then you could run a higher octane fuel for the nitrous system. If you've advanced your timing any retard it or bump up the octane a few more points. Look into running a progressive controller or doing a staged set up to keep the initial shock off the bottom end. It's entirely possible; just make sure everything is up to snuff.

You should be fine. I'm running a bigger shot than that and still going strong!

It's possible, but how long the motor will last will depend on how you go about setting it up and how you tune it. I think the easiest way would be to run a stand-alone fuel system and use a progressive controller.

The stand-alone will have a regulator so there would be no need to relocate the stock one. And like Matt said, you can run a higher octane fuel in it to increase your margin for error in the tuning.

The Nitro Dave Stand-Alone fuel system is probably the simplest way to go about setting one up. It includes everything needed for a stand-alone. He has cells that can be mounted either in the battery location or on the driver side near the fuse box. It includes a Walbro 255 in-tank pump, Aeromotive return style regulator that can handle high or low pressures, and Aeroquip hoses and fittings.

To control the system there are lots of different progressive controllers out there. Nitro Dave can take care of you with that as well since he sells several of the different controllers that are on the market.

I asked the same question about a 200 shot and everyone told me I was stupid for doing it(didnt even do it) Im just kidding, but seriously how much is the stand alone system cause I would like to run a 175-200(150 as of now) But I need to know what to get. I already have the racetronix fuel kit. Could we get some links into the stand alone system? Thanks for the help.

You can build yourself a standalone pretty cheap. 1 gallon cells are anywhere from $60-125, low pressure pump like the Holley blue and black series are under $150 (Summit and Jeg's have their own comprable pumps for cheaper), a half decent Aeromotive return style regulator will be about $100, and then you will probrably have another $75 or so in hoses, fittings, and a gauge. That's all just ball park figures but it will give you an idea.

Im going to spray a 200 shot with a progressive controller and i also have a racetronix fuel pump. Sprayed a 175 last year with no problems and no controller so i think it will do fine on the 200 with the controller

I spray a 175 straight shot off the line, not that i get traction, but it feels REALLLLLLLLLLLLL GOOD!!! Tires break loose at 50 its awesome....
