Default nitrous trouble shooting

whats up, i finally got my nitrous hooked up, and when i turn the switch on to arm it, the light comes on as if it has power to the system, but it doesnt work., im running a nx wet shot, i have it to a wot switch and a window switch, is it possible that one of them is bad? i even pulled the nozzle out of the intake and held the car at 3500 rpms and pressed the WOT switch manually with the system armed to see if anything sprays out..which it didnt. Im lost to as what could be the promblem other than a bad switch, maybe the relay?? how can i trouble shoot that? i dont know anyone have any ideas? thanks in adance

Recheck all of your wires to make sure they are correct. If using an msd window switch, are you using the right wire to trigger the relay? Sounds loke a crossed up wire.

ive checked them like 10 times, but i can check them again ill even tell you what color wires i have hooked up to what and you can tell me that the book is wrong or that i am wrong in the way they are wired up.

Are you running a fuel pressure saftey sw. . If so is it set at the proper press.?

If you have a FPSS, try making a jumper wire to connect the two sides together (bypassing the switch and making a solid connection)...sometimes that is the cause of a kit not working.

Replace the relay that is used for the solenoids

make sure MSD is wired correctly, meaning that the "proper" modification was done to the internal portion to make it work with LS1 engines....see MSD tech for more info on this...

well first off, i dont have a fpss, secondly its not on a ls1, its on a grand prix, im going back over every single wire today to check yet again, then ill change out the relay..we'll see what happens from there

I'd check power @ the solenoids and the grounds too. Alot of times it's the Simple things that drive you 'nuts'

Brandon, i've been troubleshooting electrical systems for many years. The first mistake that lots of people make is just guessing what is bad...a switch...a wire...a whatever. My advise:

Get a pencil and paper and make an exact diagram of YOUR connections on paper. Double check everything. Add what volatges should be a what connection if all is working.

Download a simplified diagram from ls1tech...search on "Nitrous wiring".

Get an inexpensive volt/ohm meter and start checking.

What I see everyday is people trying a hit and miss method hoping the answer will just suddenly become evident. It might if you are lucky. It will verify your total; system integrity if you troubleshoot.

it was the damn WOT switch afterall, after about 2 hours of testing every whire, i just ran straight power to the wot switch then to the solenoids and nothing, then i just rand a power wire to the solenoids and touched the ground to the neg on the battery and boom it worked, so im glad i got all of this mess figured out, too bad im pulling the system to put in my buddies 98z28, that stuff happens when you get pissed off and get fed up with certains things..oh well

Time...time...time. Everything is complete for this phase except for tune/dyno. We will takle tune Thursday in Charlotte...maybe dyno tuner too. Assuming all that goes well...we unveil this at a SVT/Cobra Race at the 1/4 mile at Carolina Dragway on 3/25. (Like the guys who cae don't alrady know !) New Bogarts arrive on Thursday.

Mine, Been playing with my 1 stage then 2 stage dry.Felt the need to throw a D.P. on top. The fuel line split is what's holding me up. The welder
hit my AN fitting with the TIG. Then off to the powder coaters. I'm staying with 285's on all 4. Going for the sleeper look.
