Default safely spraying a 200 shot

hey everyone, due to some unforeseen cercumstances... i am having to get rid of my SS...

but over the summer i plan to get a z28 and probly buy a higher mileage one and swap out the engine for another low mileage ls1 and rebuild the tranny and give it a 12 bolt. my question for you nitrous people is what would i need in order to safely (and by safely i mean spray whenever i want, without worrying about anything) run a 200 shot on it? i was planning on getting the Cold Fusion Kit 'CFN-LS1PRO'. does anyone know what i would need to safely run this at this high of power and what it would cost? im just trying to get an idea here, thanks!

To not worry id build the motor for it but if not do what im doing and get a progressive controler and all the safty things for your system even with all that im still worried with stock Int.

The first step would be to make sure that the fuel system was up to par for the shot size. It wouldn't be a bad idea to run a progressive controller to help keep the strain off the stock bottom end. A lot of the controllers have a window switch built in, so your killing two birds with 1 stone. Our Edge controller has an A/F switch on it, so if you start to go lean it'll shut down the nitrous.

i'd run a windowswitch and a direct portsetup oh diffrent plugs too....thats all i have and i plan on getting up to a 200 shot...although i plan on slowly working up to that stage and working on my tune for each setting. i might just end up at 150 then do a 50 dry shot for a second stage though...not sure yet but 200 shot will be a deffinate

I would definately look at the fuel system for the 200 shot.

I run a 150 with a stock bottom end. I think that running a 200 might be pressing you luck some.

On a budget Id just do the progressive controler so the hit isnt so hard and lower TQ spikes. and for sure a fuel pump. you could just stay with a 150 shot like importpatrole said and not have to worry about much at all.

I'd run a dedicated fuel system just for the nitrous and your tune is gonna play an important factor.

The dedicated (Standalone) is probably the only way to run a shot higher then 150H.P. safely. And the safety factor on Nitrous is only as good as the work you put into the tune. Always remember too that with the added
power comes a greater chance of finding the weak spot in your car.

I agree with everyone on the fuel pump upgrade. You probly want the little stuff too, like the fuel press safty switch, and the window switch. I run a 150 shot on my stock bottom end all day long, comes on at 3400 and off at 6500. If you want to do it safely I would start out with 100 shot on the dyno and run a scanner. Checked your A/F and make sure you are not getting Knock. Then work your way to 200 and see what it does.

Good Luck

I wanna get a 100-150 shot wet or dry...I plan on getting a WOT and window switch starting at 2nd gear, and of course remote botle opener and bottle heater...BUT what should i get to start off with..wet or dry? I realize i will need a new fuel pump, or maybe a separate one, possibly new plugs if i go 150....but what should i get, 100-150 shot wet or dry?????

P.s. I have 94' Z28 with a rebuilt LT1 with 57k miles since rebuild

i like wet because you dont have to mess with injectors. Shoot 150 wet, get tr6 plugs and a wlabro pump and your good to go. A tune helps a lot too.

I agree on what's been said for the most part, get a fuel pump for sure. By going multi stage (your kit can be turned into dual stage pretty easy) or progressive and a 200hit, imo, you could get away without a stand alone, as you won't drain your rails on activation. The best way to do it would be start at a lower hit and work your way up logging for a/f and the such. this way you'll see any weak links in your system. Good luck and a good choice on kits. PM me for any tech if you like.

About the walbro fuel pump....would i have that as an additional pump? or replace my stock one with that one? Also...is that pump a good pump? I would rather get a better pump than a decent one.
