Pros/Cons of a direct port setup?
I just need some thoughts on it, what are the pros/cons of having a directport setup on my car?
does it cost more than a standard wet kit setup?
higher power & torque gains at the Rear wheels?
any downsides to this? i heard of intake manifolds blowing off !
i might score an intake manifold with direct port fittings for a good $$
thank you!
-Seems to be safer (IMHO) then a single nozzle (if done correctly of course).
-Looks cooler.
-Able to do bigger shots then a single nozzle.
-Less chance of a manifold back fire.
Cons.
-Cost of system is more then a single nozzle.
-You will need to regulate fuel pressure to do smaller shots then 250 due to fuel jet size (small shots equals scary small fuel jets). Low pressure fuel equals large fuel jets with less chance of clogging.
-Time to install.
-Changing shot size can and does take close to an hour for 16 jets.
-Tuning can take longer.
No real advantage in more HP then same rating of a single nozzle system, again just the ability to go bigger in the long run and be safer.
This is just my opinion on DP. Others will vary...

If you plan on spaying 250+, either now or in the future, then DP would be the route to go. JMO though...
