important nitrous question... tuned motor = diffrent jetting??
i have a NX wet kit and i recently put a cam in.
my engine is tuned for 13.0:1 AFR.. at WOT the wideband reads dead on between 12.9 to 13.0
however, the jetting for a NX kit is for a STOCK LS1. well, i know a stock LS1 is set to be really rich.
i just ran my nitrous for the first time with the cam, and its scary lean
well still rich, but was seeing 13.7s to 13.4s. leaner then on just the motor.
and here is the really scary part: because this was a unplanned for the hell of it on the hwy kind of thing, my bottle pressure was a hair under 800psi.
this is the stock NX jetting for a 100shot. i have a sufficent fuel system and my pressure didnt stay low. looks the same as every other time i logged it before the cam/tune. slight drop when it first hits, then steady constant AFR.
i expected a stock kit from a popular company to be over rich on the side of safety.
however now thinking about it, it was way overly rich stock. so their jetting for a stock motor, is probly a little lean on the fuel jetting. right?
is this right?? thoughts on this?
im going to "fix" it for right now by changing my PE tables in the tune to command 12.0 for now. that should put me a full point closer to rich. what AFR should i go for on the bottle to be safe? i dont know what the nitrous normally sees on the bottle, since i didnt buy a wideband until after i put the cam in.
