Ethonal gas and Nitrous question?
I'm wanting to put my NX kit that was in my LS1 Camaro in my new vette, but I was over at corvetteforum and found this thread.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1381282
Is there any count to this? Makes me unsure about using the juice.
Edit: Not sure if you need to be a member of the site to read, so I'm going to post the content.
So we had a car come up for headers and put it back on the chassis dyno because it wasn't feeling as strong on the juice. We made a pull on the dyno and it was 14.7 to 1 AFR, last summer it was about 12.2 to 1. What happened from last year? Well the gas that we and most people get have a percentage of (corn based gas). Well with raising crude oil prices they are running more and more Ethonal. To make a long story short, he's fuel solenoid o-rings-seals didn't work with this gas blend, so it didn't let the fuel in. He is very lucky to still have a motor. I don't know if you guys and gals knew about this, so I posted.

From the Fuel & Injection section...
The A/F problem is pretty much explained here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/fueling-injection/456521-ethanol-e85-alternative-fuel.html
And according to this, increased ethanol probably just means that our fuel solenoid rings need to be changed out with something better, too.
I know that this topic's been covered before. Maybe it was in regards to alcohol injection with a fuel 'noid or something. I forget.
OR... buy a stand-alone fuel system.

edit: here's another long, but good read: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...4&page=1&pp=20

The solenoid had to have failed to open is all.
This sort of failure has happened since the beginning of using solenoids for fuel.
Ethanol has been in pump gas since the early 90's.
Thats is very interesting read non the less.
